Re: Coin Collectors' Corner
Hi @Shaz51
I have a ton of pre decimal coins from Ireland with weird names like farthing, half crown, truppence and florin, wonder is there any value to them. We used to play with them as kids, my Dad had a few bell jars of them.........Asgard

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner
Hi @Asgard
Wow , love the different coins you have
Need to have a coin collection book to see what value they are , they could be valued a little bit
Be interesting to see how much 🤔

Hi @Shaz51
Do you happen to have the 2012 red poppy $2 coin or the 2013 purple coronation $2 coin. In good condition, these are very valuable.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner
Hi @tyme
Do you have any of the round 50c coins from 1966? Did you know that they were made from 80% silver, until they realised it costs too much to make the coin, so that's why the 50c coin changed in design and metal composition. Depending on condition, they can be worth between $15 - $35.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner
Hi @rav3n
Fingers crossed. You might have some valuable coins in there once opened. Do you know what to look for in coins, that might be worth a lot of money?
This year 2000 $1 coin is called a mule coin as on the head side it was struke with a 10c coin die instead of the $1 coin. This makes the coin look like it has 2 rims. One has been sold for $6,900.
There are heaps of things to look out for. A double headed 5c coin. What they call a wavy 20c coin
This can be worth around $800. I always check 20c coins in my change.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner
Hi @tyme @Shaz51 @Asgard @Harmonium @rav3n
I do have an Australian Decimal Coin & Note values book, which is the latest version from last year.
It only gives you the value of the coin (haven't looked at the notes section) in mint condition.
So if anyone wants to know the value of a particular coin from 1966 onwards, just let me know.
I think the book is at my mother's at the moment, so will find it within the next week to have it on me.
I hope you are all well and having a good day 😊
