Re: Taking the plunge

The sun has been out all day here too @Maggie and supposed to be much the same tomorrow - wish I could be out in it but spending most of my time lying down still.

Just in case you didn't get to make a cuppa ...here is one for you Heart

Re: Taking the plunge

Awww @Maggie.  I must admit that today it is very much an 'under the doona' day.  Overcast, cold and wet.  It was really hard to get out of bed this morning, and I admit I snuck back there after lunch while hubby was having a post lunch sleep. Would love to stay there, but I've been up and done grocery shopping.  And just finished preparing a bolognaise sauce from scratch.  Its simmering merrily away on the stove now, where it will stay for a couple of hours for the excess liquid to evaporate off.  It will then be a lovely rich beef sauce.  So it will be spag bol tonight.  I nice hearty  dinner for a cold and wet winters evening.

Maggie, I think a coffee is the least you should have.  Do you have something there to have with it?  Perhaps some fruit or a bickie, some nuts perhaps?  Or a sandwich?  Gotta eat my friend.

Re: Taking the plunge

Bolognese sounds yum, @Former-Member 💜

It certainly is the kind of weather to snuggle under the doona.

I know that I’ve spent days when that’s all I can do.

I bought the most comfortable doona from IKEA recently.

Did you get your coffee @Maggie 💜

I’m having a cup of tea now.

Re: Taking the plunge

@Zoe7@Former-Member@Former-Member @CheerBearno I didn't get the coffee yesterday, but I have one now, thanks for the drop off @Zoe7 wow @Former-Member ive never made a sauce from scratch, it does sound lovely, and I'll bet the smell is heavenly. How did it taste???? I remember some of the other meals you have dished up for hubby, special sauces etc. cooking has never been something I've taken any interest in I'm afraid. All that work, gone in minutes, then the dreaded washing up. I watch master chief amazed at what they do with things. Artistic really. @Former-Member I retreated under my doona yesterday, only surfaced now. I watched a really old movie on tv, "all heaven has to offer".  I like old movies, no violence etc. leaving a morning coffee for everyone. Hope your day goes okish.image.jpeg

Re: Taking the plunge

Morning @Maggie.

Yes the bolognaise sauce turned out particularly well.  Lots of fresh herbs and tomatoes, plus some beef mince that hubby won at the local pub in a raffle on Friday night.  And yeah, it did smell delicious bubbling away on the stove all afternoon as it simmered down to a rich tangy sauce.

Gee, sorry you didnt get to have that coffee yesterday.  Did you even eat yesterday?  Tell me ... what did you feed your precious furbaby?  Wish you could take as good a care of yourself as what you do her.  Woman Wink

Now T H A T is a huge coffee. As you say ... enough for everyone.  Wow!  What a shame I dont like coffee.  Oh well, I shall substitute my small portion with chai.

Good morning to everyone else here too - hi @Zoe7 @Former-Member @CheerBear @Former-Member  I hope you are all having a nice weekend.  A holiday Monday tomorrow for most States, though not QLD or WA.  Anybody doing anything special for the Queens Birthday?  Any bonfires or cracker nights, like we used to have in the olden days?

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member I am planning on watching the footy both this afternoon and tomorrow. I need to mow the lawn but I may need to do it a little at a time because of my back - I don't want to make it worse so will only do it if it feels better tomorrow morning.

What are your plans for today and tomorrow?

Re: Taking the plunge

Being under the doona watching a movie sounds like a good idea @Maggie 💜

I like “feel good” movies too.

The big coffee looks good. I just finished one and am ready for another one.

Still under the doona trying to face the day. Not sure what I’ll do. Probably not alot. I hope I can get myself out of the house though.

Hi @Former-Member 💜

I hope the sun is shining to brighten your day. I guess it gets pretty cold where you are. I think I remember that you have a fire. Is that right?  We do, but so far I’m enjoying it being a bit cooler.

Hey there! @Zoe7 💜

How do you keep your house warm?  I see on the news, that it’s freezing at night.
