I had to de-clutter, as soon as my Mum's parcel arrived @Former-Member
That's because she sends me bags full of rubber bands, 100's of paper-clips, spoilt (off) lollies, etc.
Even food that was off (not safe to eat) on one occasion. Sometimes old clothes that don't fit me.
My psychologist says it's a trait (habit) of obsessive hoarders, which both of my parents were.
Apparently there's a sense of satisfaction (or relief) when Mum sends me junk (rubbish), because that gets it off her hands.
There's never any thought of "does the person I'm sending this to really want it"? Or "Is this really of any use to anyone"?
The answer would be no (both times).
Then I'm left with the guilt of having to throw it out - when it should have been thrown out at Mum's end, & would have saved her the postage...
