Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Hi @Former-Member

That's okay - I have your thanks now and I am so sorry about your dog - and this is a real flash-back into your past that has given you a real crash - I do know how these things can happen and make it hard to go to bed - I have spent nights watching recorded TV programmes that tend to run from one to the next if I doze off - mmmm - I do get it

Yesterday we had a day out of the box - which Melbourne can turn on at times - it was so mild - nearly warm and I was wandering around in a polo shirt outside - weeding my garden in bitznpiezez - I took a really long walk - practising for my trip to Sydney - and then - and then

I woke up early - it's daylight earlier now - and I could hear heavy rain. Aw - what happened? Considering winter has only a couple of weeks to run I think I can say that it has been an easier winter in Melboune that it has been for a few years

Plans this week - I am having brunch with my daughter this week and (I am glad I reminded myself) I need to text my grand-daughter to see if she wants to come. I have only texted my daughter about my holiday - not told her anything -

I had a look at my clothes - I might buy some while I am away but it seems I have enough not to have to worry about getting new ones - I have a battle of titanic proportions in the fitting rooms - ah - I am sure they have trick mirrors there

Wishing you the best Lapses - take things easy

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Hmmmmm - not quite the real thing huh?

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Hi @Former-Member@soul

I do believe I would rather have a pet rock - after all - a pet rock like a robo-pet could stand me going away for a few days without having a melt-down about it

Oh yeah - thinking really hard I remember that there was a time when teenagers were given robo-babies to care for so they would know a teenage pregnacy has spikes in it they were too young to know about - but what fun would that be -

It's rather idiotic to imagine we could have an relationship with a robo-pet - I think I prefer my DVR - that records my favourite TV programmes perfectly well - even when they are on really late at night - it's mechanical of course - but I don't have it getting onto my lap and giving me orders

Aw - yes - Lapses - no one want to grieve but it is part of life after all - is there something afoot that thinks it can take grief away entirely

I know today can't be good but I hope you are okay Lapses

Hey - the next thing will be robo-humans

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Thanks @Owlunar, cute little robot. I think its an insult to my soul to expect me to bond with something that doesn't have free will or enlightenment. I do believe they are trying to put human conscienciousness (sheesh, that's a word) into computer robots. Haha, the arrogance of man - when are they gonna 'get it' that its over - we are broken and brake things! God has a better solution to eternal life, not AI.

I'm feeling OK, just a bit lost and fuzzy head and palpitations from stress, and adjusting routine and thinking. It will pass. Poor pup, but he was very tired.

Its true we can't take grief away, they say "Grief is the price we pay for love" I don't want a life without love.

Hope things settle down here now. Usually do after the 3rd strike - comes in threes, the dead tree fell, my friend died and now the dog. Even added together its not close to the blow of losing our teenager but it does bump into it, rehash it a bit. Please tell me this lessons with time, think I have more to face round the corner.

You just be kind to your puttytat my owl friend lol I might just get a little bird, the house is so quiet. Accept for my fav DVDs too, or radio which never seems to stay on channel. 💜💕

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

deep depression. Just coming out of it now

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Hi @Candide,  welcome to the forums. Glad you're finding your way out of deep depression. I wonder if we're ever cured, but we do learn better coping skills and self awareness with help. Have you been seeing a psychologist?

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

I am currently seeing a psychiatrist and is helping thankfully

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Sounds like you've found a good psychiatrist aCandide, glad for you. I found them less helpful for therapy, but better with diagnosis and medication and health system authority. Some people see both. Its good you're here. Check in on Good Morning thread tomorrow, meet a few others. 💜💕

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

How are you doing @Former-Member? Missing Claypan? Coping? Were you able to distract yourself a bit today?
