Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Thanks @soul, @shaz, @Owlunar, caring souls. Family can be challenging. Its hard to believe my mum is fading away so fast and will not be there one day, soon. She is such a formidable / strong character.

I should pop down to see them again soon. Quick visits are the better way to go. Figured out a way to sleep in my car if need be šŸ™‚

After work today i took 2strong pain meds for my back issues but they made me crash while writing this - thus the late reply. Really wish I could lose weight - think I'm just too heavy for my bones to carry me round anymore.

Met a Lady at this morning who's lost 95kg (now 85kg) in 14months. Even showed me an old photo (way bigger than me) wow!! Lost more than 1/2 her body weight. Gastric band' surgery did it for her. Cost 22k & she was allowed to borrow from her super because her weight was life threatening. Fascinating and hopeful story. She recommended tiptop 'Skinny Bread' from supermarket.

Thanks for dropping by, hope you're all going ok. šŸŒ·šŸŒæ

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Hi @Former-Member - good on you for doing something very productive yesterday. Feels good doesn't it? You could always post a photo of your handiwork on this forum. We'd love to see what you've been up to.

Yesterday I went for another huge walk. It was a man made beach area but I was a bit underwhelmed. It was nice to get moving out in the sun though. I clocked up over 22000 steps.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Hi @soul, nice talking thanks. How on earth do you clock up 22k steps. I'm told 20min walk is about 1,000 steps, so you're talking like 7hrs walking. Do you have a job on your feet all day? I can't see how anyone can do that. But I have heard 15,000 steps should be the goal, not 10. Youre above and beyond. Amazing!!! How do you keep going? I'm not coping well today, teary, having impulse waves of just leaving... My kids are established, independent. Don't wanna get too depressing here. Wish I had your motivation to live, get moving. But your being here is inspiring. I will try take photo of my drawer project. You take care.šŸŒ·šŸŒæ

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Hi @Former-Member. I'm looking forward to seeing those drawers. Very "Better Homes and Gardens"

I have an app installed on my phone called "Pacer" which monitors how many steps I have taken whilst my phone is in my pocket, hand or bag. So far today I have clocked up 11.3 kms and have done 14152 steps. How fast I walk depends on whether I am walking my dog which I do twice a day or walking by myself (to the shops or just to get some fresh air and look at stuff) I like to take photos as well so sometimes I stop for a bit.

What's getting you down today? Come for a stroll in the cool night air with me.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Hi @soul, thanks, I must install this APP you speak of. Can't believe its been 2days since I was on this thread. Actually seems ages ago since I felt that down. Its a mystery. I don't like posting it here anymore (its not a crisis forum) but i have been quite frightened by the vuild up of SI this ladt fortnifht. Have had a coule of big triggers i guess (fallout with s3, abused at work, woke to sirens & helicopters (flashbacks) 2 young kiddies hit by car close by, had diarrhoea all day that day and tears and tongues...
But the last 2 days been trying to eat better, tend to at least one chore and one feel good project and its working a bit.

Thanks for asking. Are you OK?. I keep forgetting g who's who here, did you change your avitar. Sorry, must be tired, up all night. Gonna try sleep now.
Oh, I started a thread for help with my drawers etc called it PROJECT SUCCESS if you want to pop over. Maybe post so.etching you've done or doing. Doesn't have to be furniture.

Ny son3 rang last night, he sounds really happy, even booked in a trip to New Zealand with a friend in September. I've been eorried about him. We got over our disagreement, so that's good because it breaks my heart.

My dog laying beside me was just having the best dream, barkingvunder his breath. I reckon they have spirits, gonna go to heaven, really do. šŸŒ·šŸŒæ

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Hi @Former-Member - sounds like you've been having a rough time. You can post what you want to here. No change of avatar from me. Maybe you have me confused with someone else. In real life you would have the visual to remind you. Always loved jellyfish. I find them so peaceful to watch.

I will check out the other thread you mentioned. Hope today is a better day for you. Good that you patched things up with your son.

My dog is laying here beside me on the bed. We'll go for a walk in half an hour. It gets dewy out these mornings and her furry paws become very muddy resulting in me having to give her a foot bath when we return. I think she'd happily prefer to sleep in but it's important that she gets some exercise since she's quite content to sleep on the sofa all day until her afternoon walk.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Thanks @soul, for popping in again. How are you? What kinda dog you have? (sorry if you've said). Mine is a foxy, he's got affectionate since losing his mate last her, and now its just the two of us - I feel sorry for him and well, he's spoilt now and emotionally closer than I thought I'd ever allow a pet. I couldn't sleep till after 5am and woke about 9 with that fatigue nausia šŸ˜ž but at the shop today and need to pay bills so, maybe a vit-Bc is needed - seems to keep the brain awake. I'll pop over other threads shortly to catch up. Just noticed my newly mowed lawn - can't believe I actually did that yesterday ā˜ŗ
