Oh thx @BPDSurvivor, that's really helpful 🙂
My bad - I thought this was a group for Victorians so didn't emphasize that, yes, I am in Vic.
I am attending the 'Online Psychoeducation Session for individuals recently diagnosed with BPD' event next month and think I've subscribed to the Eventbrite notifications but will have to check.
Was it you that mentioned the event recently? Thanks anyway 🙂 I'll take a look at the Project Air thing but it doesn't mention the dates so hopefully it hasn't passed

Yeah the project air thing ended last year and they say they have no plans to do another this year.
I'm finding the online places a bit vague and can find nothing about what it costs - I'd much rather know upfront that I can't afford it rather than go down an email chain taking days before I find out I can't afford it but still, I will give them a shot 🙂

At least you gave it a shot @SanSan .
As for services in Vic, what helped me the most was respite in PARCs (prevention and recovery centres). Along with therapy at Spectrum in Richmond, I really turned the corner.
Do you live anywhere near Richmond? If so, you may want to put a referral in. Whether you get it is a different matter because their intake is very limited. I traveled to Richmond each week for therapy. It took 4 hrs in total. To this day, I’m still surprised I got accepted into their therapy. Also, it’s free. My MBT sessions lasted 18 months, and in total I was with them for at 2-2.5 years. That includes thorough assessment and everything. Spectrum is a BPD specialist in Vic. I guess you never know whether you are the ‘lucky’ one to get accepted if you don’t put a referral in.
I don’t know.
How are things treating you anyway?

Yes, at least I gave it a shot.
No I don't live near Richmond - I live in regional Victoria on an extremely limited income where my rent is 50% of that and my medical expenses on a monthly basis are a further 10-20% (variation depending on what specialist I need to see).
Thanks for the info, I understand you are trying to help and to offer avenues to possible solutions.

I’ll keep you in mind if any other online services for BPD pops up @SanSan . I only hope one day there will be equity in making services accessible for all. I really don’t know where I’d be if it weren’t for the intensive BPD-specific therapy I received.
It continues to really bother me that there is such a divide in what people can and can’t offer.
I know SANE has a Guided Service which is phone based. That is free of cost. Perhaps you can ask to speak to someone who is experienced with BPD? I’m not sure of the site link as I’m on my phone, but hope you can Google it.
Just keep going. I’m here for you!

Another thing @SanSan , I’ve never paid a single dollar out of my pocket for therapy - so it DOES exist. Just need to know where to find these services.
Some people think one doesn’t properly engage or they take it for granted if treatment was free of cost.
However, for me, it’s made me all the more hopeful to know there are people who genuinely want to work with pwBPD - and not just for the money.
It also makes me know I want to give back to the community.
There really IS hope !

@Krabbe23im so sorry that happened to you I know it’s not fair but it happens sometimes. Sometimes we are expecting things from the wrong people. Happy birthday 🎂

No it is very very fair.
The country people see me as a narcissist. If go loopy then that confirms to them I am.
Then I doubled down and thought fuck them. But without the inner strength to actually FEEL it. So I'm weak as well.
If people expect me to explode, they act differently to their normal actions to others, I can tell they are acting odd, misinterpreted it and go nuts.
In their eyes in a bullying abusive troll.
Maybe I am. I don't know
