@Bow ,
I was also diagnosed around that time (2005).
On diagnosis, how did you feel?
People have many different reactions when they are diagnosed. For me, I remembered the discharge letter which stated the diagnosis, and I remember asking "Where to from here." That was it. They sort of shrugged their shoulders and left me. As relieved as I was with the diagnosis, I was none the better because they couldn't give me any guidance in terms of support.
The stigma of BPD made them shrug their shoulders at me....
What was your experience?

@BPDSurvivor i have alot of gaps in my memory from that time, dont know why, alot of things are fuzzy and in bits and pieces. i was a very angry and hostile person, lashing out alot. on way too much medication and scheduled alot. i was given a cancer diagnoses in the middle of all this too and didnt even 'feel' that. i was so numb and out of it.
ive felt the stigma attached to it when presenting to the ED for other medical condition...
i was given the diagnoses of BPD, mild schitzop and severe depression and told id probably end up succeeding at killing myself. oh how i wish i had. im not ok today. dont have any more words sorry
