Hi All,
I am so frustrated trying to get access to NDIS. Apparently I have to complete all possible treatments, then get reassessed by specialists to see if my BPD or c-PTSD has been cured.
Uh huh... a cure that would be good. Wouldn't it!

Hi @Ferylgirl ,
It is very rare and difficult for a diagnosis of BPD to go through the NDIS paperwork unless there are significant co-morbid conditions. BPD is not seen as a lifelong disability.
All the best with any appeals you make. I guess the main focus in your application is how this psychosocial disability affects your everyday life, and without supports, you are unable to participate in daily activities.
Take care,
BPDSurvivor

Hi @Jojo
I'm newly diagnosed too (about 2 months ago) - I have to say initially I was really not sure about it, couldn't quite work out what might be BPD and what was the bipolar that I already knew I had... but now I'm actually OK with it.
I had to fill out a form to get into DBT group, where I had to write in against each diagnostic criteria how I matched that criteria now and in the past. I went from fighting against the diagnosis to actually convincing myself that I really probably did have it, and that finally getting the right treatment could only be a good thing.
Hang in there, it gets less confronting with time.

Hi Jojo,
Nice to meet you. I am glad you found us. I only found this a couple of months ago too and was relieved to find the BPD forum.
I am happy to help where I can.
Settle in, read a few posts, and by all means ask questions, make comments, or reply to others posts too.

Sorry to hear you have been ill and in hospital. I hope you can give yourself time to recover a bit more before getting back into life too much. Pancreatitis can really knock a body around.
xx
