Re: Life can be a Pain
Hi @Owlunar, thanks for that amazing long reply above. Appreciate you putting so much effort in for me. You sure do understand much, need that. And hope you do get a Comte recliner. I've been wanting to get one for me dad but he didn't want this one, being a standing one I thought it might help him get out of his chair more often (re rising so painful) but he had one before, doesn't like them, he, they said. What are you doing this weekend? I'm soso.

Re: Life can be a Pain
Hi @MoonGal
Thanks for sharing this part of your story
I am glad you are on Section 8 now - and I believe what you say about insenitive doctors. Some of them are so paranoid they are terrified and brutal.
I have a book called The Painful Truth by Lynn R Webster who was a pain specialist in the US where things are really hard for people with chronic pain - it is a very interesting book but I had to import it - it wasn't available in Australia when I got it last year
I have tried everything for my back pain - lately I have had a flare and I think it reached a point where my back hurts because my back hurts - nearly everything snagged and on Friday I was at the end of my tether - but a slight change in my medication seems helpful - hard starts are normal but things ease up during the day
Yes - I know about the brain and spinal cord being where the pain is - and I have tried TENS - terrible result for me. We all have our own electical wiring and any electrical invention of a few different kinds sends me into a spin. I had acupunture with an electric current and also something else I have forgotten the name of - and that was not good for me either
The best thing apart from my medication is heat and I have been using it for years
I do believe if they took my medication away I would be hard to get on with but if they took my heat packs away I would throw a massive tantrum - truly - the heat gets in there very well
I am sorry about the first pain doctor - that was a bad experience - one reason I stay with the one I am with - though at times she can be darned unreasonable
Thanks again Moongal

Re: Life can be a Pain
Hi @Former-Member
I'm glad that was helpful - it took a long time but I didn't notice that - I am intrigued by your family - and somehow your help must work for your oldies- I wish you the best with that
What am I doing this weekend - mostly working at easing the pain back - the change in medication is working but I need to rest - I think my back got to the stage of hurting because it was hurting - everytime I did something - it snagged - ouch
But I do think it's easier than it was - heat and rest and getting my doctor to hear have helped a lot
