Re: HOME
@utopia, I associate these good ideas and attitudes with 'strengths based therapy'. It's what my Phams workers practised. Those two women helped me a lot over a couple of yers. I have come less far in the past four years than I hoped, but life is definitely better for trying to focus on what I am achieving, rather than indulging my cynical side as much (still a challenge).

Re: HOME
That sounds like a good day - plenty of positive talk - even telling yourself not to focus on failures or falling short is good - well done
I got up a bit earlier -
Let the council know of my displeasure that I missed two hours domestic care
Went shopping
Saw my doctor who is pleased with how I am going
And it's freezing in Melbourne and I have survived the day
Let's keep going - even the smallest thing that's good is worth counting

Re: HOME
So I didn't sleep last night. Once it got to 5am I decided not to bother as I needed to be up by 7.30. So no sleep.
Took my Labrador and went and did the ParkRun. I completed the full 5km. Walking at my own pace. I was the last one. Didn't have any slow walkers with me today.
I didn't have that constant negative self talk about not being able to make it (like the first time) - because I'd done it once so knew I could do it again.
Got my time.
Drum roll .............................
52 minutes and 58 seconds. Woo Hoo.

Re: HOME
hey sweets, how are you? i guessing pretty tired tonight! good on you for doing the park run - ooh i bet your labrador would have loved it too! sniffing and weeing everywhere lol. and im so glad you didnt have the negative self talk. and yep, the more we do something the more confidence we have in ourselves. and well done on the time you did it in!
i was reading one of your messages where you listed your accomplishments for the day - it is such a good idea. at the end of the day we sometimes think we havent done much during our day but when we actually list all the things we've done, it can be pretty surprising! hehe
i hope you are having sweet dreams xxx

Re: HOME
Thanks @Bella1978.
Yes even on days where I might have described myself as lazy - I'm actually doing a number of things.
