Re: Anyone started with the NDIS?

LOL. @Former-Member!!

Re: Anyone started with the NDIS?

I started a very basic cooking and walking group last week. It helps me to have routines things to do these days more than ever @eth@Mazarita. I surprised myself and actually walked. It seems like ages that I had been for a walk and was starting to wonder if I actually could but it was good. Hoping to take my dog to the park later although it's very overcast here.

Re: Anyone started with the NDIS?

@Mazarita  Yesterday I made a big pot of leek lemongrass carrot corn and coconut milk and miso soup.  Really yummy even if I do say so.  Have been doing a bit of Mexican too.  And last cooking group it was Choy sum bow or however it's spelled - Chinese mince dish in lettuce cups.  All fairly easy recipes which I follow to the letter!  Don't have confidence to cook without recipes.

I read about you supporting your friend through rough times.  Very strong of you.  I really miss a couple of friends I used to visit up north.  J moved on to someone new within weeks of me moving so that relationship is gone.

Re: Anyone started with the NDIS?

Sounds good @Former-Member.  My sister in law and I went for a good walk between the beach and the mouth of the river on Saturday.  Great to get out as I've been pretty housebound and isolated a lot of the time here.

Re: Anyone started with the NDIS?

Oh wow that soup sounds fabulous @eth. I was just about to try to find a Mexican recipe as I bought a bag of Mexican meat balls and am not sure what to put them with. I'm about to internet search for something.

So sorry to here about J. It sounds like he can only have everything on his terms and easy. That must have been a blow @eth. I'm really sorry 😔

Re: Anyone started with the NDIS?

@eth I have a work around if you want to try from your laptop. I could post it if you want. It would involve registering under a new name like eth2 or anything else. Have you thought about that? You may have already tried.

Re: Anyone started with the NDIS?

@Former-Member  You could stuff roast capsicum or sweet potato with them and serve with a corn and tomato salsa ... Mmmm.

true about J, you are right.  But I wasn't surprised, just disappointed as he had talked about visiting.  C'est la vie.

Re: Anyone started with the NDIS?

@eth, sounds really yummy. I wish I was closer to enjoy the fruits of your labour, hehe. My cooking has not progressed much since the last round of attempts. But these days I am more likely to 'cook' sandwiches, toasties and occasional freshly blended fruit and veg smoothies (though I haven't done one of them for a little while now too). The latter rely on me getting out with my shopping trolley and on the bus to the local shopping mall for supplies. That's the stumbling block mainly. But at least I am contributing a little more on a regular basis to household eating habits, though my companion still does most of the shopping and cooking. We also regularly have take-away with our closest friend around the corner for dinner. Not ideal, but there it is for now.

Yes, there are two friends who have threatened suicide in the past week. One I feel better able to help than the other, partly because I am much closer to the first. That really is a 'warts and all' kind of friendship that has been consistently close for about 15 years now. With her, it's painful, but my heart is really in supporting her. With the other friend, she gets very drunk and rings then, when she is more aggressive and edgy and histrionic. Last night she asked me to score drugs for her. Even though I am still not completely clean of the green, there is no way I would help someone else into that same struggle, which has not been an issue to her up to now. I think she really needs to be in hospital as she has not been eating at all either. Her mother is coming to stay with her today and she is going to detox in a couple of weeks. Hopefully this may help things.

How disheartening that J moved on to someone new so quickly. Sounds like he was more dependent on female companionship than he might have liked to appear with you. It sounded like an uneven kind of relationship in some ways. I hope you are better off without him over the long haul, though I know there would be many things you miss about your time together.

Re: Anyone started with the NDIS?

@eth PS if it's all too difficult and you prefer to come on via the iPad it's cool too. I'm just wanting to help if it would help you, really not wanting to add pressure so please let me know if it's causing it.

Re: Anyone started with the NDIS?

Hi @Former-Member, haven't chatted with you for a little while either, it seems. Sending hugs. Heart
