Hi There
You where looking for positive stories.
Due to events which i wont go over here but due to major depression PSTD and chronic pain i quit my work sold our house and moved 450klm to a small country town. Now i have found my happy place i make metal art and wooden art bowls platters and sculptures. Which to my great surprise people like and keep buying.
Yes i still have dark and scary days but if i go to my workshop i free my mind and just create things.
So my message would be if your not happy with what you are doing and where you are look to change. We now live with less want less need less but are so much happier.

Hi @tyme thanks for your support. You seem to be a kind soul…
Thought I’d share some more positives as life is pretty good at the moment (focus is still on the great outdoors…).
- walked up and down a high/steep cliff face many times … felt great at the time but my quads and calves are now agonisingly painful
- explored some local bush-lands for a few hours …the peace of walking mostly alone and braving the lesser marked/known tracks was exhilarating
- I baked chocolate/coconut bars and banana bread … cooking is so calming for me
- had coffee with my mum, it was nice to connect (relationship can be full of land mines)
The above has built in some resilience for me for the rest of the week. Have a few challenges ahead. Some make me feel very anxious - one in particular has no resolution for me as yet.

Today I got confirmation that I’ll be camping in the local bush/rainforests. This will enable me to do more of my beloved hiking and walking. Chance to get off the grid. Use of communal cooking area (to heat up chilli con carne!). And to hear the birds and other animals foraging about right outside the door. Can’t wait.

My Mum had her knee replaced 3 weeks ago. The healing has gone really well. The suture line very neat. She is able to fully weightbare on that leg and is walking well. There is still a little pain, but it's subsiding daily.
Once she is 100% back to normal, she plans to get a new puppy. She is happy. My sister and I are happy for her. Her life is looking up.

Earlier this week I made final payments on my hiking plans (5 weeks worth) and accommodation (extra 4 weeks worth) to fly solo overseas. It felt fantastic.
I am now up to 105 individual items to pack in a backpack and large bag. It’s not looking good and I’m certain I’ll need to cull back…
