Re: A long rave
Hi @saturnzoon hope today goes easier on you - house searching is one of the most stressful activities there is in my opinion. Good luck with it.
@Exoplanet hope your mission re fencing makes some good progress soon. How frustrating it is when you get no reply from businesses you enquire with.

Re: A long rave
@The-red-centaur I too suffer from manias from time to time. Hoping you can manage to slow things down a bit with some sort of quiet activity e.g. an art or craft project, reading, cooking - things that can't have consequences for you once you stabilize again. Perhaps come on here and talk about what's happening to pass the time of urges to do things like excessive spending. Or activities to burn off energy - no need to be so quiet during the day - play some music, dance a bit, get some other sort of exercise. I find that if I can pass the extra hours in each day when not sleeping with some sort of focused activity it helps me stay a bit more grounded. Hope this post is helpful.

Hey @Mazarita how did your night go? ( I haven't read all the overnight chat yet).

Re: A long rave
Sounds like a plan @The-red-centaur. Maybe you'll get lucky and find some canvases on sale somewhere. I sometimes spend $$ on art/craft materials too. It's a one-off expense that makes many hours of focused activity possible.
When manic I also set aside 1/2 and hour (or even 10 minutes) to sit or lie down and do some slow, deep breathing (I count my intake and exhale to give my mind something to do while doing it. Also there is lots of relaxation/meditation music on YouTube.

Re: A long rave
@Mazarita have I missed you? I saw you have plans for this morning so I hope you enjoy them. I'm heading off to have an overdue shower and wash my hair. Sil gave me a gentle prod about it this morning. At least we've put the heater in there.
@The-red-centaur hope you get a really good price.

Re: A long rave
Sorry, @eth. Had a phone call with my new friend and we've postponed our get-together for this morning to another day. She was very chatty, possibly a little manic (another bipolar bear). Anyway I'm free all day now. Shower sounds appealing. I'd like to do some washing today (she says yet again, lol).
@The-red-centaur, great that you paint. I agree that investing some bucks in art materials sounds like a good idea, and a more rewarding kind of shopping. As I said last night, I too direct my manic energies into creativity. It also gives me a central sense of meaning to my life. Wonder what kind of paintings you do and if you have any images of artworks to post here. The only creative thing I do on the forum is poetry in the 'writing as therapy' thread. Posting there quite regularly now, love it. My main stuff I can't post here for reasons of anonymity.
