Hi @Emelia8 yes, I did online shopping a couple times, think it might be better now,but cant get full range seems, but if you accept that and pay extra to get it quicker prob a good thing. do they have uber eats or something there @Emelia8 ? they can deliver groceries from selected places esp things like milk, coffee, bread
that's terrible re covid. I was at hosp last week for specialist appt, took mask, no one was wearing them except if you went to the counter or went in for an appointment, i wore mask at drs week or so ago til realised no one else was, had bloods done after, got told to take me mask off as phlebotomist was deaf and had to lip-read ...
oh , yes got told recently about anaesthetic and PTSD, I had no idea, do remember feeling scared coming out of surgery though
Thanks for the tag and hope things get smoother at home and you can get some sun maybe

Oh @Emelia8 Thanks for letting us know. No need to apologise at all. Really glad you are home in your new home with a cosy pillow. It has been such a journey, the house, the waiting, the surgery, and all the ferrying around and covid complications. You are such a survivor.
We had to online order in Melbourne for a bit. I did not like it but it is probably the practical option for you atm, til you can get out and about more.
Sending gentle hugs and cups of tea.

Thanks @TAB @Appleblossom @Shaz51 💞🙏🌺
As for being back in my new home. That's just another thing I need to do, which is made all the harder when I cannot drive. I am still living in my small rental unit, while looking for a new home to buy. I am searching online for a new home, and found a couple that I would normally go and have a look at. But because I cannot drive, I cant just hop in the car and go look. Even if there is an open house. I need someone to drive me. Or arrange for the agent to pick me up and drop me back home. That's easier said than done. So I am feeling very hamstrung about it all. Yeah sure, I hear you say ... get a taxi! And what ... have them wait while I look at the house for 15 minutes? Frustrating and upsetting to say the least. I wont get clearance to drive until I get clearance from my surgeon. At this stage that wont be until 14th January. Sigh. 😢

My cleaner comes on Mondays @TAB so I actually got her to run me into town for an apt with my GP and practice nurse. I dont mind asking if she is here anyway and I am paying her.
I really hate asking anyone for anything! I just cant do it, as it goes totally against the grain. I have always just done things for myself. And I dont have any friends, except for one in Sydney. And thats like 5 hours away.
Incidentally, where I was hoping to get rid of all my surgical wound dressings after seeing nurse this morning. Sadly thats not the case. The wound on the abdomen is okay, healing well after 5 weeks. Just had to yank out one external stitch. No more dressings there. But the nurse wasnt happy with the surgical wound on the back. She called the Dr in and they decided they needed to do a swab of the ooze and get it sent away for testing. So I have come away with a more extensive dressing there than what I went in with. They dont think its infected, but its very red, inflamed and oozy. Shouldnt be after a bit over 4 weeks post surgery.
How are you feeling now anyway @TAB ? I read you were having BP problems since your surgery. Is that sorted now? I typically have quite low BP, around 100/60 or under. Although on the day I was discharged from hospital last week it suddenly jumped up to 160/80. My GP mentioned it today when he read my discharge report. He panicked and did my BP. All good, back down to near my normal.

Hi @Emelia8 how often do they check the scar?
I would still ask cabs if they will do a deal . Ive asked for fixed price recently plus asked them ti turn meter off while waiting in past.
anyway my stuff is minor. Bp was low most of a week then normal then low yest plus pulse up despite using being super low from bp meds. Not gp or haematologist can hazard a guess. Just said was in range etc no reason given why meds no longer affect pulse seemingly. Anyhoo.
think I have to live closer to major hospital as get older. Look after yourself

Well done for getting home to where you are currently living.
You deserve a Certificate of some achievement recognised.
You certainly have achieved so much.
Feelings of depression might hang around which is to be expected.
I believe that you have this sorted mentally for now.
Physically; well behave yes I know is hard after huge operations. You can do this.
Celebration. You might not feel like it; however; give yourself a huge pat on the back and celebrate so much that you have achieved and all of the milestones that it took you to get to where you are now.
Well done Emelia I say..
Well yes I will be quiet then.
Lovely to have you back home.
