Guessing you are about to leave. Just jumped in your pocket, you didn't even notice 🌞
Together we can conquer this day Em 🌻🌷💕
I brought some beautiful coffee and chai latte sachets from the hotel for us as well as some fudge and handmade choccies.
I also made a playlist of some favourites to enjoy along the way

I'm all done ... final radiotherapy session over. Handed back my glamorous white linen gown.
Skin and symptom check by the nurse. Given a special radiation ointment to use where skin is very raw and inflamed. Told me that it would get worse before it gets better. As would the sharp pains resulting from tissue inflamation.
Given my final weighing ... down again .. and got a tut tut 😔 on eating adequately. Told her I might be able to now that I'm not travelling or staying away from home every day. They dont like cancer patients dropping weight.
Given a sign off letter to tell me, and any medical person, exactly what they've done to me. 😳
They were all on time today, which was good. And went straight from radiation to nurse.
Feeling a little elated right now ... but also strangely alone. What now? Who is going to look after my health now? Am I on my own suddenly? After so many apts and constant medical attention for the past 3 months ... now I'm cast adrift. Feels strange and a bit scary.
If anyone would care to join me, I'm having a celebratory chai latte and brownie. A little coffe shop just down the road from the hospital. Thought it might pick me up a bit before driving home.

It was nice you could join me for a cuppa before I headed home. I'm home now by the way. It was a smart move to stop for a cuppa, as it gave me a bit of a lift.
I arrived home without incident about half an hour ago. And just got off the phone to my Dad.
I've also rung my local chemist and they have some of the special ointment to treat radiation affected skin. So I will head into town tomorrow to get some. I need to get scripts for hubby too, so can do it all at once. Not overly happy knowing that this skin irritation is almost certainly set to get worse. So I best have this stuff on hand to treat it. It isnt something you can use until after radiation is finished, because it has zinc in it. So the nurse in the exit checkup recommends it to anyone who has a significant skin reaction. Once things settle again, I can go back to the other cream I've been using up until now. That will hopefully be in 2-3 weeks.
It feels odd being finished with this treatment. I guess now I can concentrate more fully on the chemo pills and whether I really want to continue on them. At least now I will be able to ascertain what is causing which side effects. Having been on the chemo pills and undergoing radiation at the same time, it was a bit hard to determine which was the main culprit. So I have 2 weeks before I see the medical oncologist to discuss how the chemo pills are going. I keep getting told that there are other alternative pills. But after reading them ... most of them have the same side effects. Really not sure.
I picked up some atlantic salmon at the local fisho this morning before I headed up for my treatment. Hubby feels like he has been neglected over the past 3 weeks or so. I just havent been here on a Wednesday night to cook him his favourite meal of crispy skin atlantic salmon. So I am making the effort now. I hope he appreciates it .. because I really dont feel like making any effort at all.
Little Holly is a worry ... her surgery is in 2 days time. Really hope I'm making the right decision and that she will be okay.
