@TideisTurning I don't know. No one wants to hear about it anyway. It's a taboo subject. They just want to think that it doesn't exist.

Oh that sounds so tough, I'm so sorry that you experienced that, sending you lots of hugs and thank you for sharing that with us @Shaz51

A safe discussion does not include method or location.

But there's an argument for being open about methods, too, isn't there? I mean when people go and DIY it, because they don't know how to do it effectively, you can end up with some really really bad horror stories. I've heard about botched attempts that have left people completely paralyzed and worse. You could argue that it might've been better for them to know how to do it effectively.

I'm so sorry you had that experience @Shaz51. Visions make total sense as an after effect. Remember to take good care of yourself and reach out for support if needed 💛

Its hard also - you say you dont want to live etc but if you say that you wont act on those feelings then you to tend to not get support either. They then think there is no risk so no need to support.

My husband has been admitted twice  in hospital since then @amber22 @TideisTurning , @Snowdragon

I agree with that @lemlem678. It wasn’t until I actually attempted that they started to take me seriously

Yeah you get treated as being dramatic and attention seeking.

I recently went through a public mental health service. On the first appointment the psychiatrist said "being passively suicidal isnt so bad"

@lemlem678

This is why the language we use is so important

I believe any Suicidality is an expression of extreme distress, pain and struggle @lemlem678 Everyone going through these experiences deserves support. To those who haven't received the support you deserve when you've needed it, I'm sorry ❤️
