Disclosing to a romantic partner

My partner and I have been dating for 11 months.

Last night, I had trouble sleeping. I did say that I would follow sleep hygiene @Oaktree , however, I relented because it was important.

I took a leap of faith and described my symptoms to my partner, for the first time.

I told him everything (and I mean, everything)!

He replied in a natural amount of time and with no delay, giving me suggestions on how to manage my sleeplessness.

I'm so relieved that my massive gamble paid off (for now, at least)!

Fingers crossed I have someone who thinks I'm a keeper - he's a keeper, for sure!

Re: Disclosing to a romantic partner

@Spirit_HealerThat must be such a relief!, not only to tell him everything but also that he received it so well.   I think people with their own issues that they have to deal with, even less complex ones do tend to be very empathetic people.

I know my partner has her own confidence/self esteem issues, and that was more than likely why she saw oast my own and saw that part of me and no one else had ever seen.  It made me feel safe around someone for the first time.  This man sounds like a keeper though, and it sounds very much like he thinks the same of you.  As we talked about with that lunch, he's already feeling that safety and trust with you that I experienced.

Hi @Spirit_Healer

I feel that the only comment or shall I write: the only reflection I can give you is that the most important important thing is that you feel safe with him. And it reads like you do.

The love is certainly there isn’t it.

Good job @Spirit_Healer

Life is hard enough as it is………..

Im going to draw leaves shortly, I am looking at different leaf shades to begin doing my own. I reall love drawing people which I have totally ceased but maybe this drawing will get me back into it……..IMG_2390.jpeg

Oh wow @Spirit_Healer this makes me all warm n fuzzy to read!! I am so happy for you! It is amazing how powerful it is to feel heard and understood 😊💜

Re: Disclosing to a romantic partner

Soo happy for you @Spirit_Healer my friend,  that is a big step forward 🧡

Re: Disclosing to a romantic partner

Just told him even more @Shaz51 @Jynx

Everything all over again

He's a keeper for sure

I need to stop second guessing myself and but I don't know how much space is enough to give him for us to work.

I called SANE helpline followed by 000 tonight, it got so bad.

Then him.

Just hanging in here

Compassion fatigue

Need to stay at PARC tomorrow if I can get a room

Seeing GP at 13:10, don't want my carer to be there for all of it, but he wants a three- part session with my 1-on-1 (with GP) in the middle. I know there won't be enough time.

Just need to hang in here until then.

Good night

I hope I didn't lose him

Re: Disclosing to a romantic partner

Hi @Spirit_Healer just wanted to check in on how things are feeling this morning.

I know you're GP appointment isn't too far away but I wanted to let you know that I'm around if you need any support before then (and after too!)

Re: Disclosing to a romantic partner

Hey @Spirit_Healer how you travelling today?

I can understand you feeling so hard hit by this!! Being open and vulnerable takes immense strength and considerable energy. I always feel really drained, fragile, and delicate after a big outpouring, so I hope you're being super gentle with yourself ðŸ’œ
