Hi @Shaz51 - hope you’re well. With the cooler weather upon us, it’s easy to indulge. I am getting more exercise these days so can afford to have some little treats now and then. Looking forward to using the slow cooker.

At her last vet checkup, my dog had gained weight so I have cut back some of her food. She had a weigh in yesterday and has lost 300g. She’s going for two walks a day but is slowing down quite a bit.

Are you finding the salt, sugar and water balance a little easier now @Shaz51

@Determined
What eating instructions were you given? Anything we can encourage you with?

No. 1 is that I need to eat more consistently, 3 meals a day. (As close to the same time as practice) as I am prone to forgetting to eat sometimes and other times snacking between meals.

Need to get off wheat and processed food (don't eat too much of that anyway) and not allowed to have anything other than water between meals to give my liver a break. (Apparently I have metabolic syndrome? Not eating between meals gives things a rest and can help reverse things).

Doc has suggested scrambled eggs and mushrooms for breakfast (protein)

Salad (baby green leaves and mushies)  and tined tuna or salmon for lunch (that was actually nicer than  I expected when I tried it for lunch).

Meat (small serve) and veg for dinner. (We usually have this but need to avoid saussages or similar and have more non processed meat).

Herbal tea not coffee.

No sugar or sweats .

I have another appointment in 2 weeks for the next installment.

Have a goal to loose 10 kg over tne next 6 months. Will have to do some more exercise. Hoping to get back on my bike in the next couple of weeks. 😁

At the moment my system is so out of whack that when I eat less I put on weight so loosing weight could be a challenge. Hopeing the exercise will help with this. And with getting my blood preassure under control without the need for meds.

Consistent dietary improvements can make a difference with overall health @Determined. I think moving is a key factor - something I need to do too.
