That works, @Former-Member.
Got four more tomato plants in the ground today, cut back some perennials that were past their best, salvaged the good flowers among them to go into vases, and used the stems to mulch aforesaid tomatoes.
And picked some extras for the vases too. 🙂

Huge day spent pruning and weeding, green bin full plus two piles for next two empties. Secateurs won though, very sore but happy 🙂

Oooh yow @Anastasia! So I hope that's the last secateur work you'll need to do for a few days. Those will need to heal. (But well done.)

Yikes @Anastasia , hope the blisters heal soon.
A girlfriend and I got out into the garden for about an hour and got a good lot of weeding done. Earlier we had stopped at a garden centre and we picked up 4x potted colour (2x zinnias, a white dianthus and white petunia) along with an advanced punnet (4 pack) of lime petunias. Got all of these planted as well as the yellow/orange cosmos seedlings which we raised from seed and a filipendula which has been in a pot for a while (brought with us when we moved)..

Very few strawberries here @Former-Member, but I have been picking redcurrants and sour cherries for jam making. 🙂

A wander around the plant section after coffee with friends at the garden centre cafe resulted in the purchase of some punnets of cosmos, snapdragons and lobelia as well as a lemon coloured dahlia. Our front cottage garden is starting to fill out nicely.

Picked enough strawberries today to make a small batch of jam using the bread machine.
