Re: Self care by growing a garden

Perhaps you could do a bit of topiary @Determined  one of these in your yard in time for the festive season?

Lol @Former-Member maybe in time for next year.

Round (loosely defined) balls are about my limit at the moment.

That one's really lovely @Determined. Both the flower and the photograph therof. 🙂

Re: Self care by growing a garden

Had some more poorly positioned trees removed yesterday. The fellow also took away a pile of bamboo that I had cut down.

Re: Self care by growing a garden

A clump of irises have now flowered, I think they may be iris orientalis, a rhizomatous plant rather than the bulbous Dutch iris.  Sorry about poor quality of photo - only have cheap phone camera.

a couple of my yellow flowered succulents has some babies which i will have to replant

looking for some wonderful coloured plants for my outdoor area , got no patio here but the plants are loving it under the big tree xx

Re: Self care by growing a garden

Bromeliads come in a lot of colours and like an under tree location @Shaz51 .

Bought a rosemary plant and a culinary sage plant today as I wanted some for use in cooking. Hopefully they will do better than the thyme which is being eaten by something.

Re: Self care by growing a garden

I love Bromeliads @Former-Member @Shaz51 I used to grow them.

It's too hot & dry here.

They're a South-American rainforest plant (Lilly).

The Pineapple plant is a Bromeliad! - I just discovered that....
