Re: Focussing on the positives-

Well one more assessment complete.

Absolute garbage by my usual standards but over it...  Only need 13/ 50 to pass the subject so that will have to do anything more is bonus points. If I can get over 65 % overall for this one (possible) I will be pleased.  Have sent it off to a friend for proof reading and submitting tomorrow.

Now have 1 week to get the next one done. Can't wait to be done for the year.

Re: Focussing on the positives-

Hi @Determined and all the other regulars here.  I just spotted this thread and think its a great idea.  Too often as a carer we focus on all the problems that we encounter every day, and that becomes really hard work.  If we look hard enough we can oftern come up with some positives, something we aught to be grateful for or an occurance we can smile about.  So I am going to try to utilise this thread to focus on the positives that are often there if only you can see through a heavy cloud of negatives.

So for today:

A positive is that my hubby who has been in a city hospital for 19 days was finally transferred back to our local rural hospital yesterday .... Yay!  No more travelling long distances and staying in lonely and scary city hotels for me.

I'm grateful for the caring and competent Oncologist who insisted on seeing hubby immediately he returned to his home area and reassured us that things may not be as bad as they seem.  More tests pending.

It brought a smile to my face when I placed a large photo of our little dog next to hubbys hospital bed and hubby laughed.  Holly is now watching over him day and night.  I'm hoping to smuggle her into the hospital to see him.

Morning @Former-Member,
I'm glad you have found the thread useful,I know it has helped me, particually at times when I am feeling negative about everything.

Pleased to hear your husband is now a little closer to home for you and trust things improve for you both.

Re: Focussing on the positives-

Our big positive for yesterday,

S1 came home from school super excited that he can now tie his shoes 🙂
One of the teachers has been working with him on it (not even his own teacher, just another teacher in the unit where he is). He has always refused my darling and my help to the point of being distressed when we try because 'it is too hard' so 10/10 for Mrs J for her intuitive and persistence. We have been so fortunate for the support he as received with his current school.

*(Spelling fixed- wow that was bad and I can't even blame the phone for that dismal effort lol, I did it on the computer)

Re: Focussing on the positives-

as others would say to me

congratulate yourself for what you have achieved...

do not doubt yourself for what you have not yet attempted...

my positive for today.....realising how hard this is to do at the moment..

took ages to think of something...then I thought how wonderful that I have found a place where I can do this...I am surrounded by people who support me no matter how hard their own lives are...how much pain they are in..

so thank you all who put into practice focussing on the positives..you have helped me find one today

Re: Focussing on the positives-

I am so very happy to hear you are focussing as best on the positive. I am hearing that you have a lot on your plate and no one day is ever the same, thank goodness for days being different.

I find that when I look at the illness and the person seperatly, it really helps settle me into trusting that what is going on in  life is not always upto me.

I also settle myself by making sure  I am honoring this life, I doing all that I want and focusing on the good stuff going on in mine and others worlds. I hope you continue to focuson the positive.
