Re: Depression Dementia Dad
Lovely to hear things seem to be settling a bit @Former-Member. Hoping that things do pick up a little once the side effects wear off. Was pleased to hear that the boundaries have paid off with two brothers, blind Freddy could see what a marvellous job you are doing.
The cost of aged care is frightening, thank goodness you can get the extra things from dva.
I am not a nurse but have family members who are medically trained (various) and I work in medical.

Re: Depression Dementia Dad
Thanks @Former-Member @Shaz51 @Owlunar @F&H @outlander... everyone...
30th June, i've been here exactly 6months (this visit) & seeking God's wisdom if to stay longer. Its lonely here too but at least there's lots to do. Love rubbing shoulders with health professionals - talk the language again... 😁 As much as i'd love healthy interaction with my sister, i think maybe she has more MH 'issues' than me. I imagine a lot of what she sees as coming from me is what bounces back at her. Some people just put you in this little self serving box & refuse to validate who you really are or any good you do. Actually - taken me a long time but you can tell if a person bags you behind your back by the way their associates treat you. It all adds up and i'm no t chasing baters anymore.
I'm a bit worried about dad atm. His legs puffing up (oedema) sores not healing, a cough... Dr has him on ABs and extra fluid pills & wants to see him again next week. I think his heart could be on the way out.
