Sorry @Former-Member hope that did not come across as too sarcastic,
it was late and that image was the first thing that came to mind when I read your post lol
While I am always hopeful things will be better I am learning not to get my hopes up that way I don't get upset or disappointed. My darling is opening up to me more which is a positive improvement. At the very least I will be having a frank discussion with her about our plans moving forward before she comes home. At this stage she I think she will be receptive to this based on current communication.

Thanks @soul
Children seem to have settled ok, far from happy but managing ok.
I am sitting here trying to work on some assessment and cant possibly see how I can get it done,
Not at all difficult I just have zero motivation or concentration. I am just so overwhelmed all I want to do is sleep. I managed to sleep though 3 consecutive alarms this morning making the children late for school.
I should just drop out of uni for the semester but there are only 2 of us in the class for this course and there is a large component of group work so it would not be fair for me to drop out now, the other course I am enrolled in I should drop but cant bring myself to give up. (I have until Friday to decide before it costs me money and academic penalty).
The second course also involves group work so I have committed to at least contributing to the first assessment, have a group session and hope to have that out of the way tomorrow.

I remember you saying that the uni stuff would provide you with some distraction and sense of purpose @Determined. It may seem overwhelming at the moment but believe that things will get better.
With your Darling safely in hospital, that may free up some time for you to do those other things. There is always the chance that you may feel resentful and regretful that you had to drop back or out of those commitments.
Of course you will have to weigh up the pros and cons. I just know that you blitzed it last semester in spite of everything and that was a good feeling,

If I can get through this week and next there is a chance I can get back on track, for that to happen I need to get motivated and concentrate. Have a drop in session with one of my lectureres tomorrow so will discuss options with him then .
