Just a reminder that two important changes will be happening next week, starting Monday 2nd September.
NEW CATEGORIES
To help you find your way around, below is a screenshot of the new topic categories you’ll see when you access the Forums from Monday afternoon.
MOVING THREADS
When will threads be moved?
Threads will start being moved from Monday afternoon and will continue throughout the week. While we are moving threads into their new homes, those threads will be read-only, but only for a short time.
What threads will be moved and where are they going?
Friends, Family and Carers Forum: Threads within the our stories, looking after ourselves, something’s not right and useful resources categories on the Friends, Family and Carers Forum will be moved to the NEW Friends, Family and Carers discussion space (see screenshot).
Threads within the welcome & getting started, social spaces and special events categories on the Friends, Family and Carers AND Lived Experience Forums will merge.
Lived Experience Forum: We’ll be moving some threads out of something’s not right, our stories, looking after ourselves, and forums news and updates into the new categories below:
· Recovery Club (previously called Looking After Ourselves)
· Managing relationships NEW
· Advocating for change NEW
· Talking through trauma and PTSD NEW
· Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm NEW
· Employment, education and training NEW
· Events and updates NEW
Redirects will be placed on all threads so you will always be able to find your way to their new home.
Please take the time to explore these changes and post any questions you may have here in this thread. We are so grateful for your patience and understanding as we work to improve our community space.

Hi everyone, by now you may have noticed the changes that have happened to the forums!
One SANE Community under one forum and with-it new categories!
Two of these new categories are the Friends, Families and Carers and Talking through Trauma & PTSD. These are more than just categories though- they are also open group hubs! This will allow us to tailor content specific content for members of these spaces and support accessibility.
For the moment these groups also appear in the categories board, they are duplicates and will represent the exact same content no matter whether you post via the group hub or the category board. This is part of the roll out of enhancements to help make sure people get to the space they need to, but we will be working to streamline this soon.
In the Group Hub area you will see them here:
In the Forum Topics, Categories you will see them here:
To post in these areas you will need to click on 'Join the Discussion’, which will give you instant access to posting new threads:
Please feel free to post any questions you may have here as well as point other members to this thread if you see anyone unsure of the changes!

Hi everyone!
We hope you have all been enjoying the updates to the forum space and have had a chance to get a feel for it?!
Most of our thread moves have been completed with just a few more to go due to posts with a large volume of replies.
We want to highlight the new Families, Friends and Carers space! This space is there to connect with others who are supporting someone. If you are a carer, pop in to the daily check in space thread and say hi. If you happen to see anyone new coming through who is a carer, please welcome them and point them to the space as well for any carer specific conversations😊
Next week we will be rolling out a new look landing page, registration form and log in. More details and screen shots to come in next few days so stay tuned!

Starting next week we have an exciting new look landing page arriving. Here is a sneak peak of it:
From co-design and consultation with members, the ongoing enhancements of the forums should improve your experience in the forums, making it easier and more intuitive to navigate. There will be tabs for discussions, events and spaces. You will see that all the categories and group hubs are all together as spaces! Making it quicker to find where you want to go and connect with the people you need to.
We are also updating our registration form and log in, with a few additional fields for new members signing up. Members will be able to log in using their username or their email address.
Members will always stay anonymous in the forums, that always remains.
These additions are to help accessibility and user experiences across the broad range of digital services SANE offers.
Like with all new things it can take time to adjust! Take your time to look around and get a feel for things next week and feel free to post any questions you have here anytime.

Hey 👋🏼 @espressologic
I just read the email about the new look website due to drop on Monday.
What will it look like for iOS iPhone and iPad users?
Will SANE.org be developing an app for Apple users?

Hi @Glisten
So glad you got the email and checked it out! For mobile and tablet users it will look the same, just scaled down and stacked more efficiently. The user experience on devices with the new layout will be a much improved one.
No app at the moment but love the enthusiasm for it! Some devices and browsers allow you to pin a website to your screen- but not all, you could look into that? Otherwise bookmarks and favourites on browsers are helpful too 😊
We will be posting some pointers on how to navigate the new landing page soon so do stay tuned for that!

Hi everyone!
Some exciting updates! The new page layout is coming soon so we have some more screen shots and some navigational tips so you are fully prepared when the page goes live, yay!
As you saw previously, there will be tabs that help you navigate around the forums. So, lets dive in together:
1. Discussions Tab: This space is for all your latest discussions and featured threads under the new spotlight area
2. Events tab: This area is for special forum events any forum news
3. Spaces tab: Previously you would have seen all the different forum categories at the bottom of the landing page under latest discussions and group hubs. Now all the categories and group hubs are here together to bring you spaces!
4. Start new thread, notifications and profile area. This banner area has your notifications, profile drop down and start new thread button (when logged in). You can access these no matter what area of the forums you go to. If you are not already in a space you want to post, you just click start a new thread, then select where in the forums you want to post it via the drop-down menu under ‘select location’.
*To start a new thread in Friends, Family & Carers and Talking Through Trauma please go into those spaces directly, the feature for these areas is a bit different and something we are working on
3. This is what the spaces area looks like!
5. My Favourites: Do you have a space that you post in regularly, or maybe its a space you like to keep up to date with? You now have a ‘My Favourites’ area on the top right of the screen. If you click the star on a space it will automatically go to your favourites area!
Lastly for those on mobile, here are screen shots of how it will appear for you!
We hope this helps everyone feel prepared and ready. Looking forward to engaging with you all in the new-look forums! Stay tuned!
