@amber22 Can you please share the summary of some of the research where carers have shared their feelings.

Financially is the biggest one @Karen17 but you can find ways to cope with that
Social isolation is my biggest one , no friends
Except for the nurses in hospital and wonderful forum members here xxx

Being a carer can be a role that is unexpectedly taken on. How can carers adjust and integrate their caring identity into part of who they are?

I'm glad to hear you have some social outlets here on the Forums & with the nurses in hospital @Shaz51, though I'm sorry about the social isolation. It's so tough!

Social isolation while caring can be really challenging to navigate, glad you have met some lovely nurses and enjoy being here on the forums! @Shaz51

@Shaz51
You are not on your own. Social Isolation is always a big challenge and this was made even worse for carers during COVID. Carers Australia should be able to put you in touch with the Peak Body for carers in your state. At carers victoria for example, we have lists of carer support groups both in person and on-line ones and we can advise carers where they can find services who run programs and activities for carers.
https://www.carersaustralia.com.au/
I know as carers it's often hard to make the time for phone calls and "telling your story" but I suggest you give Carers Australia a call or google "Carers peak body" with your state

Yes @TideisTurning , to lose your friends because they have invited you to outings but have had to cancel at the last minute, you don't get asked any more
