Re: Topic Tuesday // BPD Awareness Week 2021 – Discover Creative Wellbeing // Tues 5th October, 7pm-8:30pm AEDT

@BlueBay, I took hubby to psychiatrist last time I went and the psychiatrist asked him what he knows about BPD and he changed the subject and put all the focus on his issues.

Question 6.

Getting involved in the events during BPD Awareness Week is a great way to start! Due to current restrictions, many of these art, yoga, and meditation events are being held online – seize the opportunity!

Carers and loved ones, take time to listen to yourself and your loved one with BPD. What is something you both love to do? Listen with your heart and not your head – go for it and do what you both love doing. This is a fantastic start.

@Scarlet72 , well... i guess psychiatrists generally handle medication... BPD is not med-reliant. Was he out of his depth? LOL

In response to question 6, I'd love to be able to write about the good things a pwBPD has and can contribute to society as a whole. Things like how being passionate can be a good thing and how a person can learn resilience and boundaries as well as being a loving, loyal, friendly person as well. I see myself as a mix of Beauty and The Beast (my favourite Disney movie!) and I believe all people with BPD are good people if you just get to know them and realise they are just like you, except they feel things very deeply. I know there is more to life than just black white and I just want people to understand that I'm trying to see the grey in the situation- it just takes me a bit more time to see it, that's all!
