Re: New and improved Community Forum – updates and support

@Lauz @Ru-bee

Just another quick one... if I click the search button (top right one - under the SANE logo), i'm just taken to a 'page not found' screen.  You can then search using the search button on that screen though.

Hi guys,

I am not sure if this has been raised but on my iPhone I am finding that the new discussion button and the notification bell are too close together. When I am pressing for notifications often a new discussion page will open. I am finding this frustrating.

Thanks

Thanks for this feedback. We have escalated this to our tech team to see what can be done about it @Oaktree

Re: New and improved Community Forum – updates and support

Hi @MJG017

Has this still been an issue for you since this post? I haven't been able to replicate the issue here, can you let me know if this is on desktop or mobile? And maybe a screen shot of the search button you are referring to- just want to be sure I've understood this correctly! 😊

search button.png@Lauz

It's on Windows desktop for me (Firefox, Edge, & Chrome).

It still does it.  I click the search button on the top right and

get taken to this screen...

From here I can click the search button again to get the search box...

Re: New and improved Community Forum – updates and support

I’m trying really hard to get use to the changes, I’m giving it time. But I really don’t like it still. I like that you have added the options of ‘latest posts’, but I always have to select that and I always have to change it to view like 100 posts. And then I have to sift through ALL the individual replies which can be a lot especially for a really popular thread. Then when I click on a post and then have finished with it, I go back and then I have to start all over again by selecting latest posts, view 100 and then scroll and sift through all the posts again.

I have found that I have disengaged from some threads, don’t bother looking ant new threads and find it just too difficult to find threads with recent replies.

sorry to complain, but it just takes so much longer and more mental capacity to do something which use to be so much easier.

Re: New and improved Community Forum – updates and support

Nah thanks for sharing @Bow  - and if no one ever complained, nothing would ever get changed, or be streamlined, or worked on... we need feedback to know what's working, and where we can improve! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Re: New and improved Community Forum – updates and support

Hi @MJG017 - thanks for sharing that screenshot. I've escalated this to our tech team to work on, stay tuned and I'll give updates when I know more. Really appreciate you flagging this.

@Bow as @Jynx said, feedback is super important! Both negative and positive. We are capturing all the feedback to be able to fix what we can with issues or feedback to the development and tech teams to understand and work on for future enhancements. So thank you for sharing this!

Re: New and improved Community Forum – updates and support

Hi everyone,

While I hope the new layout has been an enjoyable experience, I know can be a lot to get used to and again we are always grateful to understand concerns and issues, so thank you for continuing to post in this thread.

One more update that was mentioned a few weeks back was the one-click exit option. This is a floating button, (so its easily available at all times) that can be clicked for a simple, quick exit for instant privacy. This update should arrive sometime this week so keep an eye out!

Re: New and improved Community Forum – updates and support

Hey @Bow I just wanna make sure I've fully captured the issue you've outlined here. It sounds like the main issue is that whenever you change something about your home page - i.e. number of responses displayed from 5 to 100 - the change is not 'remembered' when you return to your home page, making it difficult to want to engage with this part of your forums interaction because it's annoying to have to tweak it every time. Almost sounds like we want our home page to be customisable with some settings! I have no idea how doable that is but definitely worth flagging haha.

And with sifting through the replies, is this because many replies from the same thread will all be displayed, meaning you have to scroll a bunch to find new content? So it would be better if only one recent comment per thread was displayed?

Thanks bunches for this feedback, it's super helpful!! 😉
