work, job, career
I'm been focusing on looking for work in Business Administration. But I feel I'm more better working with people, not as a carer. I don't have driver license and car. I don't have much experience in admin work.
I don't know what best for me

Re: work, job, career
Hi @TinTin1
Maybe something more front facing would be something to look at. Someone who welcomes people, answers calls and does light administrative tasks could help build admin experience while having that regular contact with people would be helpful.
Even something within HR that allows you to work with employees at some sort of entry level position. Depending on you skills and knowledge, something like project coordination/management seems a good mix of working with people and admin.
I did work for a community centre for almost 18 years is the past and that was a great mix of admin and working with people. Unfortunately a lot of roles within these places are voluntary, but you may want to look for roles within community focused organisations. So more supportive than care giving roles.
You could always talk to an employment consultant to get some opinions on what you may be best suited for or roles to look for.

Re: work, job, career
Hi, I don't have a lot of experience in Administration. I applied for alot of jobs just rejections.
I have difficulty working in answering phones etc, that why I only focus on jobs where there no answering phones but then it limits me to working in higher roles.

Re: work, job, career
I used to have a lot of difficulty talking to people on phones as well, I still do... just not as bad. So I know how restricting that can be for job choices as well as the anxiety of being put in that position.
If you want more admin experience, without the phone contacts then maybe something like data entry or file/document management. It's a good entry level start to a lot of admin positions and gets your foot in the door. Lots of rejections just seem to be a part the job market these days. Are you getting to the interview stage very often? If you're getting interviews then your resume is doing it's job and maybe just some practice at interviews may help. No interviews means you resume needs some tweaking.
It's hard, but keep trying and you'll have some success eventually. Just dont be afraid to change things up a bit if it doesn't appear to be working.

Re: work, job, career
Hi most of my life growing up I been not happy having learning difficulties at school. So I been negative etc. Not much confidence.
People say I have nice, professional manner on the phone and in person. I been studying Business and Business Administration. I surprise myself that I was doing well in the courses, though haven't completed it.
Maybe I should focus on the part of me, like being professional. and courteous if I'm to work in receptionist. i'm thinking of to work in receptionst / admin, give it ago.

Re: work, job, career
I think its a great idea to try and play to your strengths. I mentioned before that i dont like speaking to people on phones either, but if you have been told you're good at it, then its probably more a confidence thing... which i think it has always been for me. A bit of practice in a reception/admin style job and you may find you like it a lot more.
Then, with your studies, you may find this leads to more opportunities with the experience you'll get in the sort of roles you mentioned. It sounds like you have a good plan and I wish you all the best in it.
Low confidence can definitely be a difficult thing to fight, but you seem to have found a good understanding of your strengths and your success in your business/admin studies seems to be a good indicator you're on the right track which will only allow you to develop your strength more as your confidence increases. You definitely demonstrate a lot of resilence and self awareness as well, which are fantastic traits to have. So be proud and positive about yourself, and I'm sure greater success wont be too far away.
