Mentally ill and disabled prisoners are being housed with the general prison population in Alice Springs, after the loss of a specialised unit where they received care and support.
It's a human rights issue.

Yes @Dimity , You're right. Not sure if you listen to ABC Darwin, but SANE's CEO, Rachel Green, was interviewed about this very thing - the need for change. To support people instead of keeping them in remand.

@Dimity @tyme I don’t remember a time when Australia has not been in violation of the UN Universal Declaration Human Rights.
You can Google the list on the UN website.
This is why the YES vote for the 2023 referendum to change the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia was so important.
My family and I were ashamed to be Australian that day.
