This is a wonderful thread! Yessss look at all these heroes!
One of my biggest ADHD strengths is lateral thinking (a.k.a. thinking outside the box) and creative solutions to everyday problems. I am always trying to simplify my life, and quite enjoy projects involving making things - e.g. I am currently working on a belt made of re-used bicycle tubes that has lots of big eyelets on it, so I always have a place to clip my carabiners - after all, anything that isn't strapped to my person is way too easy to lose! 😂

I really like the way you've phrased this particularly @Paula1958. Everyone is different, and everyone has different strengths too ❤️❤️❤️

So true - dyslexia is not recognised as a 'disability' etc, hence students are not provided any specialised support. I wish there was more training for teachers in ways to highlight the strengths of students with dyslexia (amongst other neurodiverse conditions).
I've seen the strong problem solving skills these students possess - to the point that people wouldn't even know they had dyslexia!
Thank you for sharing @LizzieLou ,

I agree @tyme , my family members both managed to overcome their difficulties and make a sucess of life. I just find it hard to understand how people like teachers can be critical of the faults, such as spelling, and not recognise the special abilities a person actually has.

Precisely @LizzieLou . I think that about teachers too! Then again, I strongly believe it comes down to ignorance. It's not something that is taught in undergraduate teaching degrees.
