Re: Bereavement
Hi @Adge
@Appleblossom is still around the Forums. She's recently lost someone too, but I haven't seen her around as much. But I'm hoping she can drop in on this discussion and provide some advice.
I also lost my father a few years back and found getting grief counselling invaluable. That said, I also had to take time off work to go during work hours. The other option you might want to try is getting a referral to a psychologist through your GP that provides after hour sessions. You can search for psychologist based on their specialisations on the APA website. You might want to check with them to see if they have the medicare rebate.
Hope this helps a little

Re: Bereavement
Thanks @CherryBomb. That's helpful.
I find that it helps me to hear other people's similar experiences.
To have some sense of connection because of those shared experiences.
Grief & loss of someone dear & loved is such an isolating lonely experience.

Re: Bereavement
Thanks @Former-Member It's good to hear from you.
I have fatigue issues too, as I have sleep apnea which causes daily fatigue. Along with CPTSD, & the effects of 3 major bowel surgeries.

Re: Bereavement
1) I am lost for words to describe it - as I have so many losses (especially Dad). My recent increase in dissociation (complex ptsd symptoms) is making it so much more difficult to express.
2) I have great difficulty in navigating my way around this site - so I cannot find the right (or any) place to start a new grief & loss thread.
I do want to though.
Thanks.

Re: Bereavement
Hi @Former-Member@Appleblossom@Adge@CherryBomb@PeppiPatty
All our losses to death are the worst pain - having had chronic pain in my body and for over 30 years now the death of my son - and more recently in the last 12 years 6 family deaths - oh yes - they all vary but some are worse than others and the loss of a child the worst - because when a child goes they take a huge slice of our own future with them - and it is often a young person - and such a waste when a young person dies of anything
We do have a bereavement thread - but I think that we can start a new thread on the same subject because we have a turnover with our membership - people can start the discussion again with a new perspective - and bring different ideas to the conversational table -
But as so many years have passed since my son died I know the wound is deep and does scar over - but those memories - I do know other people have lost a child - which is heart-breaking to know about as well
So we have the subject up again - and let's hope it brings healing just opening up and talking about it in this the most appropriate of places - and I can let you all know that it has helped me sharing here - and I pray it is true for other people
