Re: when is it time for hospital
I like reading recipes and spend a lot of time finding new things to cook @outlander. Mostly savoury and vegetarian. This week I'll be doing a mushroom and cream sauce with fettucine pasta and then a ratatouille (mediterranean vegie stew) with polenta (corn meal). Cooking is one of my hobbies and I love to share the results with others. I am a very lazy cook when just doing it for myself.

Try throwing some Epsom salts in there too, like having an extra strength Radox bath 🙂
Are you picking on my spelling (I'm typing nice and slow now) 😄 😄 Ha Ha 🙂
I see a lot of the problems in my brain as electical, I was pretty rough on my body over the years, I've probably shorted out a few fuses over the years 😄

Re: when is it time for hospital
@Phoenix_Rising i rang the psychologist today to get more information. they do the 3 sessions for an assessment and then they can also give other therpy sessions based on what they diagnose as well as telling gp psych etc etc
i have changed to a female psychologist and the group sessions are only if i want to go- they did hint to me that there was older people in there. i so guess its an indication that there arent many younger people to get to know really.
im not into group therapy- its based on mindullness and distress tolerance skills.
yes im about an hour- to an hour and a half way depending on how far into syndey you are.
@outlander The group they are describing is definitely a DBT group (or at least a group based around DBT). The four modules of the DBT skills training are mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. As I said, if I was you, I would jump at the opportunity to do DBT. It sounds like you are getting really good support there.

Re: when is it time for hospital
@outlander I can hear that you don't feel comfortable with the idea of a group. The group part of DBT is the "skills training" part. That is, (assuming they do it according to the treatment manual) participants are not encouraged to share a lot about their personal issues - that is supposed to happen in the individual therapy. I can totally hear how much a group setting doesn't appeal to you. However, it would be a shame to use up your victims-of-crime individual therapy sessions learning the skills stuff that you could learn in the group. If you did the group, then you could perhaps use the individual sessions to do some more intensive work and thus move more towards healing rather than just coping. Just my opinion - feel free to toss it in the I-don't-think-so bin.

Re: when is it time for hospital
But it is your decision at the end of the day outlander and I can't talk,my mental health nurse suggested the GROW group for me,I didn't give it a second thought, couldn't stand the thought of being around depressed people etc like me,plus I like the respite and normacy around other people and I am too private.I however realise this has disadvantages like the past few days when I have been isolated from people and suffering severe depression and emotional distress.Went shopping today and talked to shopkeepers and came back feeling a bit of respite from my probs.I was going to say I like one on one with a therapist but I know those people in the group will be more helpful because of their experiences, then someone waiting for their alarm to go off when time's up .
