Seeking treatment advice for a father with Bipolar

Hi there, my 70 year old father has been a long sufferer of bipolar.

I am now his main caregiver as i have returned home to Australia after many years away.
He has been in and out of treatment but from what i can gather he has never had a clear path or stayed on medication.

He was hospitalized about 5 years ago after a manic episode and now he has been bed ridden since early June and is not allowing family intervention or anyone into his space.
I am obviously worried and not sure what steps i can take if he is unwilling to leave his room or even speak to me.

Would love to get him on a medication plan or a hospital stay but unsure of how to proceed.

Thank you and looking forward to any advice. He is also based on the northern beaches NSW

Have you contacted the Acute Care Team for Mental Health in your area. also try ringing his local hospital or his doctor to get some advice.

There is also help for seniors. https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/mentalhealth/services/pages/programs-older-people.aspx Some other numbers are here https://yourroom.health.nsw.gov.au/getting-help/Pages/mental-health-support-resources.aspx
