Hallucinations

Anyone here deal with hallucinations and just not tell anyone till they got to the point of not being able to tell the difference between hallucination and reality. I've honestly had hallucinations since I was mid/late teens but I'm early 30s now it's so hard to tell what's real and whats not

Re: Hallucinations

Hey @Twilightsomniac ,

I think when hallucinations become delusions, people actually can't tell they it is not reality anymore.

From working with people experiencing delusions, it's the people around them that tell them it is not reality, and even then, it's hard to believe they are only delusions because they feel so real.

Would this be fair to say?

Re: Hallucinations

@Twilightsomniac i don't have hallucinations but I do have vivid flashbacks and it's incredibly hard to know what's real and what's not in those moments. It can be really scary to go through, have you found anything that helps you to cope when it's happening? I find with my flashbacks that holding something in my hands and reminding myself that I'm safe can be helpful but it's still very much a matter of riding it out until it passes.

I know it's scary to talk about these things but there is help out there if you do decide to talk to someone about it.

You are not alone ❤️

Re: Hallucinations

@Twilightsomniac I hear voices. I told the first Dr I saw which was not good and but eventually I found a therapist who I could tell without them freaking out and making me feel more crazy. If you can share with someone that might help.

Yes. I was seeing demons in trees.
