Hi @WIP ,
In Vic, there is a rego discount for those with a Centrelink payment or low income health care card. However, there is no discount for car insurance. You can opt to pay insurance/rego monthly, if that helps.
Something else to take note of are the concessions for health care card holders on utilities. There is also a one-off $250 payment when you compare electricity etc. It's very easy to complete the form. Only for victorians on Centrelink payment/card... have a look on https://compare.energy.vic.gov.au/
So although you may not be able to save much in terms of your car, it's good to look at other ways to help reduce expenses.

We have discountef rego in Tassie for concession card holders @WIP but not sure which state you are in so cannot comment on your particular state. As for insurance - a lot of insurance companies offer reduce rates for limited usage - it does take some phone calls and inquiries with the insurance companies though ...and comparing policies. You can then usually 'trade off' prices and policies across companies - many want your business so will match lower rates. Unfortunately they do not advertise this and it takes effort on your part (and a lot of phone calls/emails) to work between those companies.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond to me regarding car registration. I should have checked their website before bothering you all, but it looks as though VicRoads does offer discount for concession card holders - not sure how much yet, but something is better than nothing.

Glad to hear you have it pretty much sorted @WIP . Every little big helps, so I hope the discount is significant.
Thinking of you and sending you love and hugs. And a cuddle for little Levi. 🐶💕🤗

Thanks @Emelia8
I completed an online vic Roads form yesterday, and it will be reviewed and I'll hear back in a couple of days.
Fingers crossed it's a decent discount. 🤞
Sending love and hugs back to you. I hope dear Holly is going along ok 💞🌻🦋

All health care card holders get a rego discount in VIC. So if you are on a DSP, you'll definitely get it. No harm in also asking whether they can backdate it from when you first received a concession card.
Have you applied for utilities concession? They can backdate that one.
Good Luck!
