Re: catching up

sounds beautiful @hiddenite! Sounds like it'd need a fireplace too. Smiley Happy

What do you imagine a typical day would be like? Hiking, strolls through the forest, gathering wood perhaps?

Re: catching up

There are lots of places where you can just dissappear.
The snow crunches under your feet it feels cold and crunchy in your hands. Its very slippery to walk on.its a magical world.

Re: catching up

Well a tipical day for me would be have a wash in the bath tub, then off to fetch some wood for the fire place, then tend to the vegi garden, then maybe some fishing for dinner. to fill in any spare time, do wood carving. maybe sitting by the river reflecting on life.

Re: catching up

Really,  gosh i am nieve, i did not think it would be possible to get away anymore.

Really, it crunches? i thought the soft flakes would just oh i don't know, i guess i am new to snow, i did not know it was slippery, i thought it would just turn to water when you walked on it, it must be such a beautiful sight, i love the cold, i love fire places, i guess it is the Nordic/Germania comming out in me 🙂

I have only known dry, dusty, humid tropical temps, we sometimes get a frost, but thats it here.

You are so lucky to have experianced snow Karen, i envy you, it must be so much fun

Re: catching up

There is a big fireplace that warms the whole house.there are timber floors timber half way up the walls and cathedral ceilings lined with timber. You can hear the don river from every room in the house. Fishing in the summer skiing inthe winter all at my doorstep.

big gates that have to be kep closed at the front of the property with a tricky latch. Green grass green trees and tree ferns.

Re: catching up

Oh Karen, it sounds beautiful, so beautiful, is it hard to learn to ski? gosh another thing i have never experianced 😞

I would love the sound of the river and the birds, and the trees, oh gosh Karen, yo uhave described heaven to me 🙂

Maybe even a nice big rug on the floor not far from the fire place and a big comfy lounge somewhere to read books or do artistic things. 🙂 a big library, oh yes, yes, that is my dream world.

Re: catching up

Re: catching up

I thought you did my angel, Oh my gosh you are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world, i so wish i could travel i would be their in a heart beat. my angel, use this as your strength to move forward, you could have the most beautiful life their Karen.

Maybe one day you could teach me to ski, it does sound like fun, have you ever been snow boarding? how to you keep from doing the splits 🙂 i have seen people on TV and the skis seem to want to go opposite ways.

Does it snow at your house? i would love to see a pic of the snow when winter comes around.

Re: catching up

Oh wow! I love the sounds of you places. It sounds serene.

I thought you might like this documentary on youtube if you have spare time and want something to watch. It's about people who live in yurt in the woods with wolves! It sounds really similar to what you both describe, snow, no technology, away from the rest of the world.

Anyhoo, if you like docos, and want to see some beautiful scenary, learn about wolves and see how others have lived on basics, you might want to watch it.

Speaking of which, would you pets in your cabin (well, not in, but around the cabin Smiley Wink)? Maybe some chooks, or a goat? Could make cheese!

Re: catching up

A yurt, gosh i like winter, but the Siberia is a bit too cold for me 😄

I will check it out later tonight @CherryBomb, sounds like the yhave the best life. we all could learn from them, they are the true environmentalists.

Well, yes, definatley chickens, i like the sound of chooks in the morning, and a rooster for an alarm clock and any wid life that wants to venture to my home, i would have bird baths and bird feeders around to keep them well nourished and watered 🙂
