Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post
Hello @Flax and @Sophia1 , @Oaktree , @Adge , @Shaz51 as well as other visitors to the thread.
I like the Sooty character, with mischievous persona and the friends, Ariadne and Brunhildyr. However, I cannot agree with your claim to having the creativity of a rock. I very much enjoyed your inclusions, as I hope and believe others did also. I do like your take on Sooty's self projection.
Certainly, I do not think that their is any need to worry, the 100 acre woodland seemed a place where flexibility and originality thrived. I would certainly like to see it continue, especially in a light hearted way. I do still enjoy, sort of from among the bushes, partly because there are other areas of the forum where I participate a good deal of the time, as well as not being able to keep up with the more creative characters in the story.
Another aspect was, while I tend to like threads to keep to purpose, I do believe, that in this thread, various people found others of like mind, where some personal issues could be aired, dealt with in a nurturing and supportive way, following which, the frivolity continued on with, in a very natural way. To me, it was as if the story could support more than just itself, which I certainly appreciated and admired in the people participating.
With Best Wishes

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post
oh that is beautifully written @HenryX
now as far as enjoying "sort of from among the bushes" there are other ways that you can be a part of the story..
you could perhaps be a journalist who keeps an eye on the storyline and every now and again presents a scroll with an update on your take of the goings on.
How does that sound?
I do hope that you consider the honoured position or this suggestion might inspire you to think of something else.
@Oaktree @Flax @Adge @Shaz51 @Appleblossom @Exoplanet
Moving forward with any stories....all occurring within 100 acre woodland.....no longer restricted to Winnie the Pooh...visitors from Winnie the Pooh and former characters always welcome to visit as special guests ....a great excuse for a feast ....
What do you think of the idea of responding with the name of the character you wish to be moving forward...you do not have to think about storyline unless of course you have one which will be more than welcome...
I am thinking focussing more on characters their hobbies...likes...dislikes...
I am choosing not to be Tiggr anymore. .....He is boring now....
I will think long and hard about who I am and whoever that is I will work in any story...
@Oaktree what do you think?

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post
I think having Henry be a journalist type is a wonderful idea. Suits his matter of fact personality a little more. Or maybe he could be a researcher as I know he really enjoys that. Whatever you want to be Henry just go for it. We enjoy your inclusions also. Don't stay parked in the bushes because we don't know that you are there and that is just boring. I was thinking of writing stories with a new leading character each time. But I could title the stories with the characters' name in bold in case I write about them more than once. Who knows I might find one I really like. At the moment my mind is a blank for a new story. I was thinking of writing about a butterfly last night but now it seems that Zoe is our butterfly so now that's not so original. I am sitting in the car for a few hours this morning whilst my daughter takes the stat test so maybe I will think up a story while I am here.

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post
Meggle
Once upon a time there was a little girl named Meggle. Meggle loved digging in the garden and playing with the worms. One day Meggle went out to the back garden with her beach shovel to dig. It had been raining recently and the ground was very soft. As the hole got deeper she thought she could see the corner of a golden box. Sure enough on the next spadeful of dirt her shovel hit something so she put her hands in the dirt until she managed to dig around the box. Now that it was exposed she was able to see that it was a beautiful golden box with intricate patterns. She reached down and lifted up the box. It was very heavy. She wondered what could possibly be inside the box and why it was buried in her backyard. Slowly she lifted the lid. She couldn't believe her eyes. The box contained buried treasure. Beautiful golden coins! Pirates must have been here she thought. She wondered to herself if the pirates had made a treasure map where x marked the spot. She did live quite close to the coast so it was possible that it was pirate treasure. She didn't want anyone to find out about her treasure so she carefully returned the box to the hole and re buried it. Then she placed a large flat rock on top to mark the spot. She would make plans and come back for the coins another time.
