Hi there Forums Community 👋,
Welcome back to our Monthly Events and Activities Update 🙂 Last month we trialled sharing a calendar of events, and decided to keep it going this month!
What's happening in October 2021?
October is Mental Health Month! This year, there will be lots of ways you can get involved and connect with others by joining events and discussions in the forums.
🗓 Topic Tuesday
5th October: BPD Awareness Week: Discover Creative Wellbeing
This week is BPD Awareness Week, and we will be celebrating this week with a Topic Tuesday featuring special guests including DBT clinician from NEABPD Family Connections and our community guide, @BPDSurvivor!
19th October: Tools for Advocacy
This event was postponed last month, and we can confirm the new date of the 19th of October. Join us online to talk about tools for self, individual and systemic advocacy.
26th October: "You don't have to be isolated as a carer"
Following on from discussions during National Carer's Week, we will be chatting with one of our Peer Ambassadors about isolation as a carer, and the power of finding connection with peers.
Let's talk about Emotions; discussions continued
Our Emotions discussion will continue this month with two more discussions; sadness and happiness. These discussions are a space to explore the role of emotions in our lives, how we feel and express them, and how we cope when they arise. We are using a tool called the emotion wheel.
If you want to check out the discussions so far, you can find an overview here and our first two discussions on Anger and Fear.
#ShareYourOneThing this Mental Health Month
Today is the first day of Mental Health Month, and this year we are encouraging our community to #ShareYourOneThing that you do for your wellbeing. There is a discussion in the forums where you can share your one thing, and encourage your fellow forumites to do the same!
