Re: Walking group

Yeah its silly. Have barely walked since June maybe I struggle to get walk in with 12hr days when working. Just not that organised @Zoe7 anyway gave self week off work last week well and managed a whole 90mins walking. Once upon a time I’d do 7-9hrs a week

Re: Walking group

wowo that is a lot of walking @TAB but I suppose I would have done around the same amount of hours in training and playing sport each week - that seems a lifetime away now!

Re: Walking group

Well that was like 17yrs ago @Zoe7 re that much walking. Its still possible now. Ok used to have walking partner /motivator few years ago was doing 2hrs non stop some days. Forgot that. And an hr in hills semi regularly was so peaceful re bush and hills plus a lot better for you than walking on flat ground

Re: Walking group

I find walking on the bush track near the beach to have the same effect @TAB It is very hilly but I also seem to be able to do it much easier than the flat. concreted ground of the city. It also has that magical bush smell with I think serves as an added incentive as the smell is pleasant. We can take dogs on the track also so I get to have my little buddy with me - maybe I could do part of the track as well as the beach on Monday.

Re: Walking group

That sounds brilliant @Zoe7 and I guess one way hills seem easier ie because of the vegetation and getting drawn into it re sight smell and lack of ‘markers’ well not necessarily actual ones but always knowing how far youve gone re walking around town or on walking path

Re: Walking group

There are seats dotted along the path too @TAB so if you need to sit and rest for  moment you can. The path winds round the edge of the hill and overlooks the beach so the scenery is magical - especilly on a clear day.

Re: Walking group

That sounds wonderful @Zoe7 some of my favourite beach view walks were near Denmark in WA, did once on trip. Pt Elliot inSA that recurs infrequently over the years and cliff tops Port Willunga SA done so many times lost count but first time in years about 12mths ago

Re: Walking group

Oh. I’m nowhere near a beach now so not giving my identity away I guess @Zoe7

Re: Walking group

I fell in love with Port Elliot when I visited there some years ago @TAB I could happily return there.

Re: Walking group

wow that is a lot of walking @TAB

might go for a walk after @BlueBay, @Zoe7, @Former-Member

it is raining on and off here today after being dry for ages
