Hi @Shimmer,
I've just had a "friend" (no longer consider her a friend or that she ever really was) say "Yes i look after a lot of schizophrenia patients in the past and Im not sure if you have that or you are just an attention behavioural seeking." (She was a nurse, but she only ever told me she was a general nurse for 5 years) Also she said "And please research "Dunning Kruger effect" maybe there is a reason why your nurses said that. Next time when you do research try research good quality evidence research rather than "Dr Google" everything." .... I have been to the university which is hardest to get into for a psychology degree in Queensland & got high distinctions - mainly distinctions. I am not enrolled currently so do not have access to the wealth of empirical research due to my "attention seeking" - therefore I googled "dunning kruger"... it seems I am both attention seeking & stupid.
I don't want to be alive anymore - I don't understand people - people make me paranoid - don't understand that & then seemingly abuse me & think they understand - this started when she said about 2 months ago that I needed to take responsibility for my life & stop worrying what other people think & stop blaming schizophrenia & paranoia - if only it was that easy to snap out of it...
Sorry, to be so bleak - I don't really know who to talk to - I've talked to my partner & even to his mum a bit, but it is still going over & over in my mind....
Sigh...

Oh @Former-Member,
That is an awful thing to hear! Of course you are not attention seeking, how invalidating for her to say that. If it were that easy to snap out of mental illness it wouldn't exist at all, everyone would choose to feel well in an instant! Unfortunately the road to recovery takes time, and you are doing a great job taking steps along it here with us
I'm glad that you are expressing your feelings, even though they feel bleak at the moment. I'm sorry that this is a hard day for you, but it is okay for you to feel how you feel, and to share it with us - we are here for you
Perhaps having a chat here tonight will help break that cycle in your mind for a bit. I've just noticed your new profile picture, so gorgeous! Do you have Burmese cats?
