Then again there's the Mary River east about 1 1/2 hours from Darwin - reputed to have more crocs than any other river delta in the world - but still gorgeous country. There are croc spotting cruises or Aboriginal Cultural tours in the area.

Then of course there's the red centre - Kings Canyon isn't as well known as Uluru but looks amazing :

Last but by no means least - Kakadu (Gagadju) National Park - 3 hours east of Darwin :
and so much more. Gagadju forms the western boundary of Arnhem Land - a whole other world that can be explored if you get a permit from the Northern Lands Council.
Lots of these places there's local tucker available too - magpie goose, crocodile, roo, buffalo and even turtle eggs in remote places.
I wonder if anyone else has been on this journey tonight? I could continue but I feel like I'm out on a limb.

Yes @eth, I did a ten day tour of the NT but I don't have any photos on my phone and the computer is at the doctor
