Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Sorry you have been feeling that, @Jacques. Take it easy. Thanks for replying when you can. Cat Happy

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Glad to see everybody ... I am too flat out ...to post pic of globe artichokes

@Jacques we all know you meant well and you apologised ... which is more than many people do ... we would welcome the other poster too ... part of growing up is learning to sift between those hurts which are intentional and those which are unintentional ... I think intention is HUGE.

Gott go ... I am pressured

Feelin' the love - you "forumites" (as @PeppiPatty would say) are a great bunch 🙂

@Jacques - we're here when you are ready. Please don't isolate yourself. We enjoy yours and @hiddenite 's company very much.

What has everyone got planned next week? I have the week off for 'Reflection Leave' Yes! We get an extra 5 days a year of leave to reflect. It has to be structured, have a focus and we have to have our plan approved, which keeps us accountable 🙂

Among other things, I'm going to practicing mindfulness - does anyone have any good resources? Open to books, audio/youtube clips, apps...

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@NikNik what is your job? I will go to yoga twice next week on Tuesday & Friday & to see my pdoc on Thursday. @Jacques nice to see you here 🙂

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Is @Jacques cool ?
@eButterfly how are you ?

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@NikNik That sounds like a wonderful idea for an employer to take up, and what a good idea to practice mindfulness. How do you think you will do that? Will you be researching different ways of approaching mindfulness? It's one of those things I kind of understand without having a real definition for it.

Next week here will probably be similar to this week. I'm mainly taking life day by day. I will try to get out more than I have this week and pick up the act a bit more on how much I get done of the daily plan. Some added homework from my psychologist. Probably quite a few beach walks.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

I've got a four day weekend and hope to hit the garden, but gently because my shoulders are still buggered.

I also have some penpals who need responding to. And some mail swaps that need assembling.

Work is bonkers busy again till probably February, and it looks like my role and maybe my team are going to change. Not a fan of change, but at least being so busy I don't get much time to fret about it!

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

I've never heard of 'reflection leave' before - what a wonderful concept @NikNik. A job like that seems rare.  For me the most important aspect of mindfulness is to really strip down activities and just do one thing at a time, even eating or having a warm drink or breathing.  I sometimes use adult colouring books or zentangles (which you can download) to get focussed.

My main task this week is to be prepared for a trip I am having with my brother in 3 weeks.  I find if I'm organised well in advance I don't get so anxious about the details.  He is shouting me airfares to Cambodia for a week to visit my nephew and his family and their cafe over there.  Exciting but nerve wracking at the same time (none of my few friends understand why I am nervous about it but travelling can be a trigger for me sometimes).  I am also voting tomorrow and seeing my psychiatrist next week - haven't seen him for 3 months, my longest time between appointments since starting with him nearly 2 years ago.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

To be honest @NikNik

All I truly want to do is read a couple of @Chookmojo  messages, Im trying to get my head around NLP.

And....Im helping my youngest son clean his home tomorrow.....he is living with a group of his high school friends, really nice men and they have their first home inspection and I promised Ille clean their bathroom ............

WHY???

How about everyone else?
