The lack of organisation and inter-agency communication always miffs me - how does anything work, is the question...
I hope they have accepted the study for you @TAB 🙂
I voluntarily registered with a DES some years ago, because I was finding it really hard to find work while I was studying due to having some barriers/disability, and then I got myself a job, after investing loads of time and effort into the confusingly non-useful tasks they wanted me to do (sit and log 'hours' with them, having someone accompany me to re-write my resume, canvasing door to door..on crutches, and attending 'updates' of the 'plan' which was all about making work hours for the person I was booked with, nothing about me as such), and I was still told I had to attend these appointments.... get this, I wasn't receiving a govt supported payment (or any other financial support besides the earnings I got for myself from doing the odd jobs I got in the interim).
I kept reminding them of this, and that I was not under any obligation to do anything, essentially, but that did not stop them writing all these weird and wonderful letters to me, stating that if I did not comply with particularly rigid requirements I would have my 'payments' suspended... *insert massive eye roll here* lol.
I wonder how anything is achieved, and it's sad to see our systems in disarray. I hope I dont get in trouble for saying this, but I really think we need significant reform, like, yesterday... 🌺
