@Jynx Those books sound amazing. I'm not polyamorous but celibate. Too old for relationships! I did see a doco on the ABC years ago on polyamorous relationships. I think its pretty much in the same league as plural marriage. People seem happy when its consented, its a lifestyle choice. I do know of a prominent online astrologer who is polyamorous.
Hey, here's the link to the meridian balancing. I listen to it several times a day for it to work its magic

Something I used to do to cool off is use peppermint essential oil in either a full bath or foot bath.
I did it when I had no aircon and its even more cooling than a cold bath alone. I doubted whether it would do anything but it has a big chill factor to it. Much colder than a regular bath. You have to experience it to believe it
I got colder faster in a peppermint oil bath as peppermint is known to have cooling properties. I use doTerra essential oils not stuff from the chemist as they don't have any therapeutic value they simply deliver no benefit.
Now that I have a cat I have to be careful around pets with essential oils.

@Oaktree Technically Polysecure is the first one, and probably the best place to start! It has a really great model of attachment theory, which she calls The Nested Model of Attachment - it broadens the scope to include our attachment not just to primary relationships, but also with our home, society, culture, and even at the global level. I also really loved the final chapter, which has insights and exercises for helping us to improve our attachment relationship with ourself.
Polywise has a lot more info about the transition and paradigm shift when moving from monogamy to consensual non-monogamy (CNM). I think my fav part was about how we manage conflict - not just in our relationships, but as a society. We're stuck in a punitive paradigm where conflicts all seem to require a 'winner' and a 'loser', and that the loser then deserves punishment - making absolutely no room for nuance or unique circumstances, and landing us all with a bunch of conflict-avoidance beliefs and behaviours. But yeah, it also has a lot of practical tips and exercises to help in providing a framework and some guidance for working through the attachment anxiety and potential jealousy that can arise in CNM.
@SmilingGecko honestly, I think becoming non-monogamous has been one of if not THE biggest factor in me being able to heal my attachment trauma. And it's not just a lifestyle choice! For some it is, to be sure; but for some people it's as much an orientation as sexuality. I'm one of those people!
Like for example, when I was younger, I never really understood why people thought cheating on a partner was SO BAD. I always thought like... just because you like another person, why does that automatically mean you don't like the person you cheated on? And I mean, I do understand now that it is often more about the deception and the breaking of relationship agreements, but yeah, was one of those lil things that helped me gain more insight into myself!
Thanks for the link!! Will have to give it a whirl tonight! And oooh peppermint oil is a FAB idea how ingenius!!

@Bill16 depending on the antibiotics, you can have moderate amounts of alcohol.
My GP told me that the story of not drinking alcohol whilst on antibiotics originated when penicillin was prescribed to men with syphilis which was rife in the "good old days". The GP would tell them they couldn't drink because alcohol would lower their inhibitions and cause them to be reckless when having some rumpy pumpy whilst still infectious.
Of course it is recommended not to get too inebriated when on any medication but a glass or 2 shou'dn't affect your antibiotics 🙂
Get better soon my friend.
