Hello @TAB I wondered about you not having social contacts where you are. I used to attend a psychiatric rehab in Melbourne which was part of the Clubhouse movement years ago. The guts then got ripped out of mental health system and the center had to close. I met some beautiful people there of all age ranges and abilities.
I noticed there is a Diamond House Clubhouse in Port Adelaide. I looked on the map and saw it was a bit of a long drive. Don't know if it would benefit you. The requirement is you have to have a major mental illness to join. They have all kinds of daily activities and maybe going once a week would get you out of the house and socialising a bit. I have found Clubhouse to be a warm and accepting environment, its a drop in center so you can come and go as you please.
You can find Diamond House Clubhouse on facebook.
I hope you don't mind me making suggestions. I have checked out a Clubhouse in Melbourne and they look like a nice bunch of all ages, predominantly older. I can't go there unfortunately due to distance and other specific reasons. Maybe once in a while going there would break the monotony of flying solo?
Anyway you could always check them out on facebook! 🙂

Yes for sure @TAB. Clubhouse is a bigger model though - it has international affiliations and is a worldwide movement. The one here has high teas, xmas dinner at a winery, boat trips, meals that they cook every day for people, sausage sizzles on a regular basis roadtrips and more. The one I attended used to put on incredible things for people and the new one in Melbourne which opened of recent date is no different. The folk at the Melbourne Clubhouse look like nice people going by photos on their facebook page. They live a vibrant life going by all their activities. Can't hurt to have a poke around on the web to check them out.

@TAB Temporarily closed but I think they open only after a certain time of the day. You could DM them on fb or ring them for more information. I think they have their e-mail listed there. I can say Clubhouse changed my life. I met a lot of good people there at the one we had in the 1990's. Like I said a new one opened here of recent times and the activities are amazing. I don't even live that kind of lifestyle lol
