I've also been dealing with mental health issues for going on 30 years.  Sorry I haven't introduced myself.  Hi everyone I'm Abner.  Nice to meet you.

I still don't know all there is to how I might deal with the abuse I received, but I know a psychologist once said to me "The best revenge is a good life." And I try to do that for myself.  I'm finding creativity is a good thing for me, I draw and paint and I'm studying music, others might find creativity and imagination in science or mathematics or theatre.  So I'm having fun going on the journey of discovering what works for me.  There's so much out there to try and lots of time to explore.  A friend of mine adores birds.  I also have cats, and love singing, another friend of mine is passionate about mathematics.  I finding doing things you're passionate about and help you learn is a fantastic coping mechanism.  Even doing a martial art if you've always wanted to do that will help alot.
