Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!
True: the facts I can think of aren’t much fun - and the fun things are pretty much a fiction. I guess I am trying to make sense of the world and my part in it. What is truth and what is lies, and why either of them matters. Work out what baggage I’m lugging around and how I can divest myself of some of it. Figure out what is love and what is habit, and what I need to do for my future health both physical and mental

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!
Yay new friends!! Welcome @Seems-positive and @SomethingGood! Good to have you on board 😁
@Indigo_ aye sounds like very worthwhile endeavours, lots of reflection and contemplation ahead eh?
Also, just a little tip! If you want other members to be notified that you've responded, you can tag them - use the @ symbol and a drop down will appear, and you can choose their name. If their name isn't there, you can type it out and it should then appear for you to select, then it will show up in blue 😉

@SomethingGood love that, making a healthier connection with yourself is such a great goal to have!
@Indigo_ i feel ya, sometimes i feel like the 'fun' things i say are usually not directly about me, its more about someone/something else that i've learnt 😅 you sound like you have a philosophical mind (me too hehe)

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!
Love catching up on this thread and getting to learn about some of our new members. @SomethingGood you said we are all so brave and I 100% agree.
So today while I extend another big forums welcome to our newest members:
@As-I-Fall @CherryRipe @Cjc77 @COR496 @Cramseyyy @Dreamzy @Hawks24 @hayleyhowson @itsme_eve @Joanne4 @JustJoe @Kate2401 @Kathryn57 @Lavillnaifs @Lifelongtrauma @MaidinAussie @MrsSeveson @Purplekat13 @rtesd @Sades @Seems-positive @sienna3 @SpooniSupporta @The_wretched @VickiGraham
(and a big hello to everyone else!) I thought I'd pose a question so that it might be able to act as a little ice breaker: When was a time that you did something brave? It could be something small like relocating a house spider, or making a phone call that you were anxious about, or maybe it's something big...whatever comes to mind

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!
Thanks for the response, yeah she a cutie,
from what I understand it’s for people that overly control their emotions, this is from the site:
“[…]Emotional over-control. ‘Self-control’ is usually seen as a good thing, however too much self-control can cause difficulties. Excessive self-control is associated with social isolation and poor interpersonal relations and it contributes to conditions like anorexia nervosa, obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, chronic depression and autistic spectrum disorders.
Over- control is seen as a problem of emotional loneliness – not necessarily lacking contact with others……but lack of social connectedness with others.”

Re: Newbie's Social Club - Come make some friends!
Something brave? Hmm... I went for a promotion at work which was a very daunting interview process with various panel interviews with senior management. I tried to talk myself out of it convincing myself that I would fail, but I pushed through the fear and uncomfortable feelings and went for it. I was successful and got the job, one of my proudest achievements, I think and had taught me that the only thing stopping me, is me a lot of the time.
