Re: Good Morning!

Hey @tonys you may wish to contact the seller and say that you wish to cancel the purchase. That is what I have done once or twice in the past. They can easily reverse the transaction so you don't have to pay. It just came to mind this morning. Go to the purchases page and scroll until you see your item and click on where it says contact seller and initiate a cancellation. That is how I think its done from memory but you have to contact the seller.  There may also be further menu options about cancelling the transaction but yes it can be done!

Re: Good Morning!

No @Former-Member ,   thats the thing.  I never completed a purchase in the first place. When I could not find a end transaction icon anywhere on the eBay page, I just turned the computor of to severe the link.

This upset eBay who keep emailing me to complete my order or empty my cart. But I challenge anyone to show me where on the eBay transaction page exists an place you can click that says empty my cart

or terminate this transaction.   To date, . .  'I have never bought anything from eBay',   because as soon as i get to the final step. It says . . seller won't deliver to a P.O box.  and the only way to end the process is to use the control / shift keys  on the computor to sever the link with the site. .  How primitive is that  .

and eBay wants to trap me into a monthly subscription.  Check it out on Google.  I'm not the only one.

Others can get eBay to respond and are having to stop there card if they are lucky enough to notice.

Its a scam targeting people on their data base  that are very old or intellectually impaired.

Well they didn't fool me. First thing monday  I'll be in the bank,  then department of fair trading.

OH yes and I nearly forgot.  HI MY LOVELY HELPFUL FRIEND. .  bless you mate for all you do.

tonys...     Good morning everyone.  Its absolutely pouring outside.  School of mullet just swam past my window..🙂   tonys

Re: Good Morning!

@tonys when I have clicked to buy something and haven't paid after deciding I did not want the product I contacted the seller.

It works if you have not paid yet.

For example I clicked to buy some oats only to find out that they had gluten in them after thoroughly looking at the product online which was misleading content the way they advertised it

The seller just cancelled the transaction so I did not have to pay

Re: Good Morning!

Don't think I'm doing a great job of explaining myself here @Former-Member .  I never completed the transaction so I owe no one any money.   But . .  the only way you can do this without the hassle of contacting the seller is to literally . . turn your computor off.  The crooks don't have a end negotiations or end transaction or empty my cart or go take a hike . . .  icon to click on.    I don't want to have to negotiate with the seller. I don't have to at Amazon.   Soon as it says ..  seller won't send to PO box   there should be a box that says  OK   forget it then.   But what I got is a subscription to eBay free delivery trial,  without my requesting it and no possible way of contacting them to cancel it. .!   Go to posts and blogs regards eBay free offer.   The guys on there are explaining the scam  better than me  I think mate.   As for me.  Till ebay has an end transaction icon,

i just won't go near them.  I definatley don't  want the extra exposure to a seller I don't know.  I just want a middle man who is insured and licenced with a good reputation.

Thanks again for your helping  SG..      take care mate..                                tonys.

Re: Good Morning!

Thats ok @tonys I think I understand now.  The difficulties of navigating the web! I dont think ebay is as good as what it used to be anyway with cheap overseas products. It was once a great platform for the average person to sell both new and used goods but they made it harder for people with fees I think. I hardly use ebay anymore. Most of its junk. I noticed lots of people have hopped across to Etsy. But yes Amazon is only going to morph into a huge monopoly squeezing out small businesses

Re: Good Morning!

So true  @Former-Member ..  Trouble is,  I don't engage with the right wing folk in my new town.  They are great,   but not my cup of tea. Its anti greeny here.  So goods and services have to come to me via online. In the 12 months I have used Amazon,   its all come to my PO box. or Post office collect.  No breach of privacy on my property.

Only catch with them is they don't accept Pay Pal ,  because eBay owns Pay Pal.     People vote with their feet. Every person in my circle has for one reason or another,  left eBay.

Mate. . .   I will run my ruler over Etsy though, They have a lot of interesting lines.  I buy very little now.

This whole process is about practising online shopping till I'm an expert at it because  my next stroke

could leave me house bound and I want to be independent as I can.

Still pouring out the window,   How is beautiful Melbourne looking  today..            tns

Re: Good Morning!

@tonys

I assume you've seen the little shopping cart/trolley icon on top right of page on ebay? If you have something in your cart, before paying for it, there should be a number in red. Click on that and you get the option to remove item/s from your cart...

Sorry if you know all that and your problem is different

No idea about your being signed up for something though. I've been using ebay for years with no problems
