World of Books Australia has 7 used copies of the book. Could also do libraries and get an Australia-wide library loan if youre really strapped for cash. Libraries can get the book in from other libraries around the country not just from your local shire @StuF

Yeah nah, probably not for me @Former-Member
I have enough trouble reading books I Want to read these days. So, while it looks interesting, it's a fair way down the list!
But I hope you enjoy it 🙂

I was just putting it out there for other folks with MI struggling with willpower. Its something I have had to cultivate and not easy to come by with a schizoaffective disorder but I think Judi was mentioning her interest in it as her diagnosis was standing in the way of her from time to time realising her dreams. Willpower is a big issue in MI circles @StuF

Oh totally- I didn't mean to discount its value to others @Former-Member
Hell, I Know I could use more willpower myself! I just can't do the reading thing very well anymore.
I'm sure others will appreciate your sharing 🙂

Its a shame you can't read. Many people with uncontrolled schizophrenia in particular struggle with this. I don't know how it affects other MI's. When I was first diagnosed couldn't even read a magazine and my love of literature was temporarily held back. These days I don't have ongoing psychosis and can therefore concentrate with books @StuF

bit back in the conversation ... often people in poor circumstances do better for themselves ... sometimes the kids are incentive for them to find a path through the morass of life ... being the poor kid of particularly poor parents I would never say that as a generalisation. The world and history is too complex ...

@Shaz51 @Appleblossom honestly I don't really think it's that simple. All people want to have purpose in life, it is part of the human experience to have a desire to contribute, to create, to give back to the world. And all humans also need community around them to flourish, and need the love and care from their social group to thrive.
To break it down into a gendered thing seems to short change the fact that all people have the potential to struggle when they don't get enough love, and all people have the potential to struggle if they feel directionless.
