@MDT my hair is growing like magic! Abracadabra! I wish the hairgrowth wasn't so fast! I invested in a "Crea-Clip" during the world financial crisis. A type of device that combs the hair between teeth, clamps it and then has a water bubble so the cutting line is level. I have a basic easy to manage haircut so its easy to do and don't have to fork out $$$. There are youtube videos for both males/females on how to give DIY cuts using the Crea-Clip!

Hello @Judi9877 Sending good wishes to you. Hope all is well.😊 Good luck with your assignment. What is it about? What are you studying? Online?
Edit: I just re-read your recent post to me. Yes, you're online with your studies. Sorry, my head is at saturation point, I think. How do you find online study? I am finding it convenient but quite difficult. It can take ages to get a question answered and sometimes I find it easier to just go in another direction. We are supposed to read each others' posted questions in case they have already been asked, but that is just an extra load. How long is your course?
I put my second assignment in several days ago and Turnitin assessed it at 46% from other sources? I guess that accounts for the compulsorily attached Abstracts from the articles we are working on, but I am rather bewildered otherwise. It is nerve-wracking when you don't understand the system! I am at rather a loss as to what to do at this stage. I guess I'll have to ask my lecturer. I'm learning computer skills at an enormous rate!
Anyway — feeling a little low and just wanted to touch base. Cheers.😊

I never used plagiarism software as did my degree 20 and a bit years ago, there are guides
guess software looks for word order, repeated words(can be unavoidable if subject matter) well if others used them
Some things are just common knowledge so doesnt really matter where it thinks you got it from dunno, then only way to pick fault is word order dunno @Historylover

Thanks @TAB. Turnitin automatically checks our assignments when we turn them in. It sure is a difficult path. I thought I had all possibilities of plagiarism covered so it is rather perplexing. I was expecting a 0% similarity so was rather shocked. I withdrew it and worked with it a bit more, but I'll probably just make it similar to something else! A bit difficult when half of the work is attached Abstracts which are certainly others' work.
Anyway, I think I am recovering a little. I've only got one more opportunity to submit it and I'm not sure what I'll do if I get the same response. It's 40% of our grade and I've been working on it for a few weeks.
So thanks for your post @TAB. I'll just have to re-submit it and brace myself, I guess. I hope you had a good Sunday. Cheers.

I think you are probably always going to get something it seems @Historylover dunno I started doing MBA a few years after degree, most students barely spoke english and shared all their work, the lecturer said had taught in asia for 20 years and its the norm to cheat there I dunno just ask people/lecturer I guess
Thanks, that's okay pretty sure I used others ideas, but in my own words, and saying attributing ideas, even if not in footnotes
Anyway I quit the MBA, didnt complete 1 subject lol

I didn't cheat @TAB - that's why I'm bewildered. It's all my own work and it has nearly done my head in! The only thing that worries me now is if I re-submit it and get the same response, I might just have to leave it at that as we only get to submit it twice.
It's almost impossible not to repeat phrases in common usage and if they assess that as plagiarism, how do we do otherwise? Perhaps the person marking will see that it is not plagiarism even if Turnitin does. I know if there is a 3-word phrase someone else has invented, we have to attribute. But who knows about others? It seems like so many hoops to jump through. I wish I didn't care but I do.
I guess the reason some Asians might cheat is because so much is expected of them. Failure is not an option.
Anyway, it's good to hear from you. I hope today has been a good one for you. Have we posted before? Pardon my ignorance, (I have more than I like to admit to), but an MBA is a Master of Business Administration? I only have a TAFE Certificate in Business Studies done so long ago. What did you do with all of your education? Was it appropriate to later employment? I really wonder about all of these university courses and how they help people in the long term re employment. I know @MDT was saying his lecturer has taught him little this year. I think universities have become more interested in making money than in educating minds. But perhaps I'm wrong? That's what I think all of these online courses might be about — or am I too cynical?
